discuss the adventures of somewhat magical girls fighting robot insects for precious water in the post-apocalypse
Press F to pay your respects to Rinako
As expected, as much as Tatsuki was the sould of Kemono Friends, he's not fit for his own series, at least not yet.
Kemurikusa lacks charm.
11/10 would recommend.
I haven't watched it yet
it's not Kemono Friends but it does have its own kind of charm. But other than civilization being in ruins and some inorganic monsters, there is not much in common as far as we can tell from the first ep.
And the girls are quite cute in their own ways, despite their similar design with all the red and black.
I especially like the older cateared sister who reminds me a lot of the Hippo from Kemono Friends.
Not sure what to make of the relationship they're building for Rin and Wakaba (the Not-Kaban, for those who haven't watched yet). I hope she won't be stupid and tsundere when dealing with him for the rest of the show.
I can't agree nor disagree.
On the contrary.
KF wasn't even good until episode 3ish
This is true. I thought I was being memed at first. But then I heard to watch it until then.
It has been HOURS since the episode aired.
Where are the lewds?
Unless the series does a 180 flip, I doubt it's got what it takes to keep Tatsuki's star afloat. And I was hoping success might have taught Kadokawa a lesson, to bring him back at the helm.
But it is interesting nonetheless. Most of it seems a riff on KF's darker elements (ceruleans and the post apocalyptic) and might have been intended for the S2 we never got.
>KF wasn't even good until episode 3ish
Incorrect. It took 3 episodes to accept the horrid animation, but all the ingredients were there from the start. The OP was a work of art, the savannah was the most memorable setting, and the meeting of Serval and Kaban is the most memed event in the series.
>a fucking SHOTA appears
>slight romantic tsundere shit starts with him
Yeah, that is a DEFINITE fucking drop right there.
Not to mention, the appearance of the male MC makes all girls except Rin instantly completely irrelevant.
No wonder only she has a voice actress that anyone will give a shit about, fuck this rigged game.
is he a SHOTA though?
wot? the girls still have their gimmics, and it's just the first episode
I don't want to blindly defend this, but I won't attack it for poor reaons either.
>wot? the girls still have their gimmics
Ugh, no. When they add a male protag, suddenly only the love interest girl will get all characterization and romance, others will be reduced to gimmicks.
Kemono Frodo was abnormal, or should I say special in every way including characterization. The high hopes for this guy are precisely that he won't follow the usual tropes.
Kadokawa pays shills to tear down Tatsuki on a nearly deserted board on the internet? They do have a lot of dosh! It was a decent first episode. It's still CGI but there's a noticeable improvement in the animation over KF. It is the first episode though so a lot was left unexplained. It's a good thing there will be episodes in the future to explain them so I don't have to write it off as a shit show after watching 24 minutes because I'm not retarded.
I see your point now. I still think it's a bit unfair. That would make any anime with a male MC and a number of female characters/MCs bad by default.
Yeah, I'm hoping for this too.
>That would make any anime with a male MC and a number of female characters/MCs bad by default.
They usually are.
Unless, maybe, if the main girl is your favorite.
Which isn't the case here for me, by any means.
>Unless, maybe, if the main girl is your favorite.
>Which isn't the case here for me, by any means.
Interesting analysis. We call this specific situation a STBYP
I can't tell if you're a lolifag or a yurifag.
First mostly, but more than either, I just hate random fagboys.
>Most of it seems a riff on KF's darker elements (ceruleans and the post apocalyptic) and might have been intended for the S2 we never got.
This is actually based on a short he did years before working on KF.
Decent first episode, is a cool setting with some neat gimmicks. I'm concerned about the MC but I'm interested enough to try at least 3 episodes despite the ugly CG.
It was okay but I was hoping for something more original than grimdark Kemono Friends.
I mostly liked it. The setting is interesting and plays well to Tatsuki's storytelling strengths of slowly dripping in information that raises more questions than it answers. Apart from a few embarrassing moments the animation and art direction is pretty solid right out of the gate, unlike Kemono Friends which had a pretty rough start.
I am somewhat disappointed about the male protagonist though. I was enjoying watching the girls do their thing, now it will most likely be him driving the plot. And worse he feels like a "Gary Stu" self insert, a beta fag that apologizes and accepts his death one moment then 5 minutes later is charging in to rescue the same people/things that unflinchingly tried to kill him. He doesn't feel remotely as believable as Kaban-chan did. Maybe he will have some character growth but at the moment he feels as unwelcome and unnecessary to the universe as "Kaban-kun."
>slowly dripping in information that raises more questions than it answers.
This. More people should do storytelling like this. Trigger, for all it's flaws (especially in delivering a climax) actually manages to do this well and can hook you up through an entire season, making you feel like you're discovering something new in almost every episode, while raising more questions at the same time.
>I am somewhat disappointed about the male protagonist though.
Same feelings. At the moment, he is the only problem the show has. That instant-stockholm syndrome trope gets me every time.
The fish out of water plot was handled way better with Kaban-chan even if we only look at the first episodes of their respective shows.
>This is actually based on a short he did years before working on KF.
Yeah, I went and watched it afterwards. It seems the original Kemurikusa was the source of the darkness in Kemono Friends. Not sure how it holds on its own, or if KF worked only because of the uncommon mixture.
>Trigger managed to do it well
Nope. Their payoff is usually shit that all the buildup is fucking wasted.
>I am somewhat disappointed about the male protagonist though.
His existence ruins the whole series for me. He reeks of your usual beta harem lead :
<MC gets involved with some ??? shit
<good guys sees him as a potential threat
<he proves himself by being useful and/or saving the good guys
<good guys accept him, and the uptight/tsundere falls in love with him
I'm starting to think that Kemono Friends was a fluke.
>Trigger actually manages to do this well
Every studio trigger production has a fall off point, where everything turns into shit and you might as well quit there.
>I'm starting to think that Kemono Friends was a fluke.
Every success story is a fluke, there would be no failures if you could just plan everything out. That's why Tatsuki shouldn't have been thrown away, the lucky mixture won't be as easy to recreate.
That's why I told that KF wasn't a success because of Tatsuki, it was a success because Tatsuki was a perfect fit for the charming world of Kemono Friends.
However, he IS shit when it comes to doing his own thing, and this episode just proved all my fears.
>check a few forums for reactions
>they're all complaining about the fucking white male
Transgender america can't die soon enough
>Every success story is a fluke
Don't be that nigger, you fucking nigger.
FYI Tatsuki altered the world of Kemono Friends into the mysterious post-apocalyptic setting we see in the anime.
He's good at world-building (as seen with that flying manta-ray short), but it seems that he's pretty terrible (or at least mediocre) at actual story writing.
There's nothing "transgender" about this.
A normal, heterosexual male doesn't like little fagboys in their series.
It's either a guy of actual respect, or just girls, but having an obvious love interest of a shy and little boy looking faggot boy is a disaster.
best girl needs herself a little boy too
She's dying though.
She got the treesap aids.
>A normal, heterosexual male doesn't like little fagboys in their series.
<male appears on screen
May as well be gay porn am o right or what lol
My problem is that he's too much of a bitch for me to like and relate to. A girl I can forgive lots of faults, but a man I hold to higher standards.
There's male characters, and there's annoying little teenage boys with round faces.
Well time for me to watch Dragonball Super for the forth time.
Literally why? It doesn't need to have some retarded powerlevel strength, just be a not faggot teenage boy for a change.
What you want is Masamune-kun no Revenge. What you got was Masamune-kun no Revenge.
I really don't want that, no. That's also faggot teens with their teeny problems.
But a guy like this is the lowest, he looks absolutely shit, and his character is also "pure, innocent and naive, sinless boooooya", disgusting.
What's a guy you respect in anime?
I haven't written off the show but yeah when a guy appeared on screen I had an immediate negative reaction. It just felt weird because I was hoping for fun adventures with cute girls. With a darker undertone.
>A normal, heterosexual male like myself
You just revealed too much, m8.
>doesn't like little fagboys in their series
Weird, usually males identify with male characters in shows. Unless you consider shows like partners in mating, which would explain why you just declared heterosexuality toward anime waifus.
Have we reached the singularity where 2D is its own sexuality?
>Have we reached the singularity where 2D is its own sexuality?
I'm okay with this
This post pretty much nails it. I am looking forward to more but the existence of a male MC means that the rest of the show really has to step up to keep my interest past the rule of 3.
>usually males identify with male characters in shows
They usually either don't like to identify, or want to identify with characters that are like them.
Only teenage fucks want to identify with teen fagboys, that's why shounen have them as lead all the time.
The guy would be less annoying with a deeper voice. He doesn't have a sqeuaky voice, but it's somehow shrill, it becomes grating to hear him after a while, his problem isn't that he's a selfless fool that becomes competent during crisis, but it's another point to take.
My biggest complaint would be the pacing. KF comparisons can be acceptable because it's the same director, so it's a bit jarring to see how that series had a nice balance of scenery, conversations and interactions for a mostly calm series, almost an animal documentary with animal girls with the occasional fast pace for adventure or comedy. But here it had neckbreak pacing and the characters never stopped talking.
With Serval and then the other Friends, they explained Kaban and the audience about what little each knew about the Park and themselves, but this group already knows each other, and they don't trust Wakaba yet, so you feel in the dark after the episode ends. It feels like they crammed as much as possible maybe because the series wasn't gonna get greenlit or because they're gonna drop more things later on, so they had to skim here. At least, I hope that happens.
So here it focused on them talking and not in showing some background shots to see the grimdark world. Music was quite good, I like all the girls, and I'd tolerate Wakaba if he had a deeper voice, he sounds shrill.
I'll still watch the whole thing unless it's an utter trainwreck like Lance n' Masques or Juuni Taisen, and even then I finished both of those series. I waited two years for both this and KF2, I really don't want to see Tatsuki or the KF franchise fail just get, though I'm not putting the guy in a pedestal by any means.
I blame that dissonance between this and KF on the different styles and themes. KF had a focus on SoL and the interaction between characters, while Kemurikusa's first ep was mostly focused on action and worldbuilding, with a brief intro to the characters.
I really want to like this but I fucking hate characters like Wakaba, I cannot think of a single person I have ever met who would react like him in a similar situation
>What? You're gonna kill me?
>Oh, well. Guess I'll die then. So sorry for the trouble, have a wonderful day!
I refuse to believe Japs act like this themselves
>I refuse to believe Japs act like this themselves
You would if you had samurai blood.
>NANI!? Filthy suh-ree-dee-fih-meh-ruh captured me!?
>kill me now, have nice day, gomenasay for bothering.
This isn't an anime based on the Sengoku period but you just described one.
He's the opposite of Kaban, then.
>PLEASE DON'T EAT ME!
>very nervous and wary
<PLEASE EAT ME! (if it'll benefit you)
<nervous but his curiousness makes him look like a fearless idiot
Though in a way, this makes you dislike him. He seems more chipper and rolls with the punches, so it ends up looking like a smug dude that already kinda knows what's happening, instead of someone who's in a completely alien situation that would be acting skittish and nervous and wanting to get out of trouble immediately.
Criticism aside, is it me or does his clothing looks like it has leaf motifs? His sleeves have a pattern that kinda looks like leaves, his hair is brown like a tree trunk, and apparently they're protecting and eating from Midori the tree. Would that foreshadow that he's some sentient tree, or that he'll make a sacrifice and turn into the next Midori?
Anyone know what the japanese reception was?
>so it ends up looking like a smug dude that already kinda knows what's happening, instead of someone who's in a completely alien situation that would be acting skittish and nervous and wanting to get out of trouble immediately
>acting skittish and nervous and wanting to get out of trouble immediately
I could have gone for a male character like that if they had done it right. Literally a male Kaban-chan would have been more appropriate. Imagine if the girls had been curious but not violent about capturing him (who clearly looks humanoid like them), and had desperately tried to escape, kicking to get away, screaming in a gruff shota voice, etc, until eventually both parties are pacified. That would have been much more believable than this herbivore pussy.
>That would have been much more believable than this herbivore pussy.
I agree, but then again, that wouldn't have been any better either.
When they throw in a moeblobified male who has zero spine, it's just a huge problem for the series. Especially since everything will revolve around him.
The one who doesn't shove steel beams in her gaping vagina.
I'm partial to Rinayo. I like how she skipped the third one in introductions.
>still using kemono friends tier animation (although marginally improved)
>hating wakaba just because he's a guy
is this isekai though? was KF isekai?
Are we living in isekai world? What if we have amnesia and are stuck here living a boring dull life, while in reality we're cute immortal little girls?
>is this isekai?
It counts, I suppose, since the guy came from another world… somehow.
I think you've been hooked into vr headset way too much.
>is this isekai though?
No, modern isekais are about entering videogames. Lots of series in the past had characters traveling through worlds (Time Bokan, Escaflowne, fucking Inuyasha) and that element didn't account for shit.
An isekai is wish fulfillment for gamers to make vidya real. Sometimes the presence of the gamers themselves is unnecessary, and their role is replaced by the point of view of the spectator.
Kemurikusa is crypto-isekai at its finest. People like you have been tricked into thinking it isn't isekai while in reality it is 100% isekai. All the word means is "different world" and sure enough in the first episode a clueless male MC magically appears in a world he is totally unfamiliar with.
It's barely concealed isekai not that I won't continue watching for the loli maids
>he actually likes retarded male characters of this type
They are as dislikable as fuck, that’s why everyone is rightfully complaining
She feels Gensokyo calling
>hating wakaba just because he's a guy
I would be wary of any male character, but I dislike Wakaba for the kind of guy he is. There are other male character archetypes that would not have provoked such a strong reaction.
>is this isekai though? was KF isekai?
What divides the two is the extent of the self-insert wish fulfillment. Kaban being a girl means that (to most of the audience, guys and straight girls) you can sympathize with her, being a human in a world of humanoid beasts, but that isn't the important element of the show. Kaban drives the plot but she remains understated with the spotlight on the beast girls that are the main draw. Whereas here it feels like a specific type of guy is supposed to identify and empathize with Wakaba, and that not only cheapens the show for the people that are interested more in the world and the girls themselves, but threatens its foundation by drawing the attention away from these unique girls to some milquetoast prostrating faggot.
Or maybe there's a story to tell. Maybe there's a point to a character. I know that doesn't happen a lot with cute girls doing cute things but in other anime there's these things called plot and character development. I know these are new concepts to you but a lot has been written about them in academia. You should really look into them. It's a fascinating read. I wish you the best in your research.
>male character enters the scene.
Well I hate myself, so any character meant to be my self insert will be a target of that hate too!
Hate's often due to a reflection of the self. All of the people I hate, besides Jews, are due to them hating an aspect of me that I hate in myself.
what would Wakaba's proper reaction to being tied up and exterminated after getting isekai'd be in your opinion then?
You are so /a/ that it hurts. Does it upset you that people here can articulate criticism of a show instead of incessantly
roleplaying CUTEPOSTING and spamming screencaps to inflate the post count?
Do you seriously think that bending over and spreading your asscheeks is a believable reaction to have toward people stating their intent to kill you? Would you 5 minutes later try to save the people that literally attempted as best they could to kill you with the knowledge they had? Either his character or the situation that the girls put him in would have to be drastically changed for any of their interactions to be believable.
Maybe Tatsuki will prove us wrong and this was all a setup for an epic sUbvERsiOn of the isekai genre, but as is I think it is normal to be disappointed by this opening. It neither proves him to be a hack nor is nothing to be concerned about. It is normal to be disappointed that THE GOD THAT SAVED KEMONO FRIENDS is making a show that appears to be going in one of two directions: wish fulfillment isekai, or the kind of "subversion" of a genre that any dumb fucking hack could write.
Acting like a real human being for starters. Who just lays down and dies at the first sign of conflict? Far less complex organisms have much more survival instinct than he portrayed.
I'm not so much annoyed at having some random male chara show up, but in how poorly he's written. I really hope the next episode can salvage the show, because I want it to do well. I want Kadokawa have egg on their face. Any other show I would have dropped by now, but I'm sticking with it because I have a vested interest in it's success.
eat exterminate me!
his defeatism and fatalism becomes even more out of place afterwards when he decides to risk his life to save one of his would-be executioners
Passive agressiveness is a tell-tale sign of being a Redditor
>You are so /a/ that it hurts.
Not as /a/ as you. Your timeline for the next eleven weeks.
>watch Kemurikusa until it becomes new obsession
>get anally ravaged because there's a penis in your cute girls doing cute things show
>post on /animu/ for seven days about how much seething you have inside of you that you just have to tell the uncaring world about
>repeat every week until the end
>make fuck huge post about how everything went exactly as your preconceived notions lead you to believe in the beginning
>stagnate as a human being
The only reason you're not on the anime board that hates anime is because you make too many typos and the trannies have a bot the automatically bans you.
Nah I'm just a dick.
I'm sorry I didn't realize this was a forum. Maybe we should have user names.
>faggiest passive aggressiveness possible followed by UMAD and shallow ad hominem that you could copy paste apply to anybody critical of anything
ok/a/ then, goon
I could quote other posts where I said I liked parts of the show and want it to succeed in spite of this faggot, but there's no point since you didn't address any of the points I made. It's obvious that you aren't arguing in good faith, you're just trying every strategy you can think of to piss people off. I'm not falling for it and so shouldn't anyone else that can tell you don't wrote write or behave like anyone that posts here sincerely.
>the trannies have a bot the automatically bans you.
Hello fellow /animu/er! Gotta add that so we know you're one of us!
Behold the fragile tr/a/nny
You're so predictable. Why make a fuck huge post about how you're not falling for it then? Because you're a weak link in the human race. Keep flailing to cast me off as some boogeyman you're turning to in your mind to make me not belong in /animu/. First it was /a/, then reddit, now I'm a goon. You want to talk about weak arguments and not arguing in good faith? Massive projection. The crux of your argument is that we have to hate anime or we don't belong on /animu/. You can get that on 4/a/, 8/a/, reddit, tumblr, SA, twitter, and every corner of the internet that talks about anime. Because I like anime I'm from all those places at once according to you because I don't agree with you for being a little bitch. You belong somewhere else like any of those places that you would fit in with that I mentioned. You would fit in with the sea of people that lash out because you don't understand something while simultaneously stroking your own ego because you're the only one that thinks highly of yourself. I'm just glad you're a genetic dead end and the only influence you have is being pathetically angry on the internet.
Please don't doublepost. It's very hard on the NEOgaf moderation and is against NEOgaf's rules. :^)
You are literally putting more effort into shitposting than I am into honestposting.
You're putting more effort into samefagging because you have nothing.
This board does need IDs if you ask me. It would keep things more honest.
>being an idcuck
It really does. The only people against it are the shitposters that wanna start shit every thread.
well, what was he going to do?
run away? to what? there's no safety and for all he knows the next group he encounters won't bother asking before exterminating.
attack them? he's outnumbered and outgunned
he doesn't know anyone else there, perhaps "extermination" is the only way out of the isekai nightmare he's found himself in; maybe he was suicidal to begin with
>why save loli
gain the trust of his captors, the only other living beings he has so far encountered.
this may also all be a case of
>you must be this japanese to enter
as in valuing the group over the individual - they told him he might have the red aids so the only logical thing to do in the absence of a cure would be to quarantine and purge.
Nothing matters, when the guy is such a fucking disgusting, fagboy looking and sounding nobody, and then it makes the whole series revolve around him, and his romantic interest, as has already been shown in episode one.
Yes, he made the show shit, by his mere presence. Only male protag that are fit in a cute girls show which isn't a harem is some extremely likable one.
>well, what was he going to do?
How about trying to orient himself and find out where he is and why? He didn't even attempt to.
>maybe he was suicidal to begin with
No, he wasn't, because as he clearly shows he doesn't want to die. You're making up bullshit to excuse poor writing.
>they told him he might have the red aids so the only logical thing to do in the absence of a cure would be to quarantine and purge.
No, they thought he was one of the "bugs", not a carrier of some disease. As he was clearly aware that he was a human, he had no reason to think that he was whatever a bug is. Why the hell do you keep making terrible excuses that ignore what we see in the episode?
It's bad enough that his personality and design is that of an unbearable, spineless faggot, but that's not the whole reason he's an awful character. The other characters are conveniently retarded in order to make him use his main character power of noticing extremely obvious things. The girls are, for all purposes that matter, essentially human. They're clearly capable of critical thinking. The lolis act like retards but that's an anime staple and they clearly aren't actual drooling retards. Why would none of these girls, in particular the hard ass cover girl, not be able to notice that some areas in the mist are hotter than the others? This isn't KF where Kaban had the power of the human brain and the other girls were humanoid animals. The girls were just conveniently stupid so that MC could show off that unbearable faggotry that nips seem to love where a spineless faggot puts himself in danger "because I didn't want them to be hurt eh he he he".
I agree. The main character should have been American and shot the girls with an M16 to start the show. The end. It would have been short but it would have been better than this.
>How about trying to orient himself and find out where he is and why? He didn't even attempt to.
he was attacked before he had the chance
>No, they thought he was one of the "bugs", not a carrier of some disease.
for all he (and they) knows, he is one of the bugs
>Why would none of these girls, in particular the hard ass cover girl, not be able to notice that some areas in the mist are hotter than the others?
same reason they couldn't solve complex problems in KF; they aren't fully human and don't have gigantic cortices driving their actions
you really just hate him for being a guy which saddens me.
>you really just hate him for being a guy which saddens me
Feminists and weebs agree, neither want male protagonists in stories. I used to call myself a weeb as well, and this evolution of the community horrifies me.
Wait, THIS is KF2?
Why is it suddenly so edgedark?
no, KF2 hasn't started airing yet
If anything, this is KF Zero.
>you really just hate him for being a guy which saddens me.
Males are the cancer of anime. Anyone who watches shows without an all-female cast MIGHT just be a homosexual. No p*nises in my Japanese cartoons, please
>he was attacked before he had the chance
He started by trying to escape, clearly fearing for his life, then suddenly he wants to be killed.
>for all he (and they) knows, he is one of the bugs
<huh this thing doesn't look or act like a bug and is capable of speech
<IT MUST BE A BUG
>same reason they couldn't solve complex problems in KF; they aren't fully human and don't have gigantic cortices driving their actions
They are more than capable of logical thinking. It also doesn't take a fucking genius to notice that "this place is hotter than the others". Everything we see from the girls indicates that they are at the least intelligent enough to figure something so incredibly fucking basic out as that. This is something that wild animals understand in reality, you don't need a human brain to grasp it.
>you really just hate him for being a guy which saddens me.
<this character is shit because he's incredibly poorly written and one of the worst cliches around
>woow you just hate him bcuz hes male!!
You are either beyond retarded or trolling. The way you manage to be so utterly stupid and obnoxious in so few words suggests the latter. Stop trying to cover for undeniably shitty writing with your baseless headcanon. Then kill yourself. I'm going to stop responding to your caveman-level intellect posts now.
It would be fine if people didn't reply to b8 every fucking time. Half of the Girly Air Force thread is one faggot saying "lol fuck weebs" and raking in the (you)s because no one can resist the urge to argue with babby-tier shitposters. No wonder lolinigger and yuricuck thrive here.
Don't bite the bait, put on ignore, downvote, don't engage the wrongthinker. Just like on /a/ and reddit, we need a safespace where weebs can feel worthy with no conditions.
maybe he was so willing to be exterminated because he thought they meant death by snu-snu
>you'll never have a Rina-some
>you'll never fuck mission control cat while you do most of the work because of her shitty health
Ritsu seems like the type of girl that would pass out from excitement during sex which is a huge bonus to me.
Ritsu needs to be nursed back to health through tender love and care.
And then dicked into bad health so you can nurse her again.
For some reason people just *love* biting the bait
>then suddenly he wants to be killed
this is your lack of imagination, not the director's. if it was found that you had airborne ebola for example and put your family and friends and nation and perhaps all of humanity at risk and were going to die anyways would you not kill yourself to protect everyone else?
>huh this thing doesn't look or act like a bug and is capable of speech
they lost one of their friends not even 10 minutes ago, their lives are at stake here. now is not the time to take chances on a new unknown being who might just be a red bug in disguise
> It also doesn't take a fucking genius to notice that "this place is hotter than the others".
tunnelvision in combat is a real thing too
We're closing in on dangerous levels of 'this kids show is so immature'. Lots of cartoon logic doesn't stand a serious analsys, it needs to be scaled down to the viewer's level. And be engaging on a narrative level.
>I am going to punish Kadokawa to the ends of time for what they did to Tatsuki. Damn their curse blood
<It is revealed Kemurikusa has a male lead, while Kemono S2's new Kaban is actually female
>lol fuck Tatsuki, muh waifu
Could it be that anime enthusiasts are too absolutely normal heterosexual males for their own good?
Against my better judgement, I'm going to stick with this show in the vain hope it can pull victory from the jaws of defeat.
>male characters unwelcome, state totally normal heterosexual male otakus
Tatsuki on suicide watch
>thread is infested with sjweebs
of course this will happen
>the guy is a fucking retard
>keeps wowing over every little thing
I don't find him endearing at all.
I find him irritating.
Then don't watch it.
Wakaba is exactly what I was afraid Kyururu in Kemono Friends S2 would turn out be.
He really is the
worst only bad part of the show.
I mean I understand it's all new and strange to him, but still it wouldn't hurt to be amazed quietly.
And Rin turned from admirable big sister type to worst girl (muh tsundere) the moment she had to interact with him.
If it was just the girls doing their post-apocalyptic survival thing, I'd probably have my AOTS.
I'll still be watching where it goes from here since I still like the girls, but atm it's not the second coming of Jesus-Kaban that I had hoped for.
>how dare you criticize anything
Remove yourself from the gene pool
It's shit. Every anime is shit.
>little jorge don't put your hand on the stove. It's hot.
>you'll get burned and I can't afford to take you to the doctor so you'll just die in the gutter from infection
<*puts hand on stove*
At least we're being honest today.
>disliking a character = hating the entire show
>muh "if you don't like it, then don't watch it"
Fucking strawmanning nigger. Fuck off back to whatever hole you crawled out of.
The story seems to unfold the way Kemono Friends did, with hints of being sprinkled here and there.
It should be an interesting ride, but Rin and Wakaba had to drag everything down.
Jorge you're going to die in the gutter. Don't do it!
It's okay to be mentally disabled
I want /leftypol/ out.
>while Kemono S2's new Kaban is actually female
Except no revalation like that, and everything points toward Kyururu being a male?
Anyhow, nips hated Kemurikusa e2 too. And for a good reason, it's basically Wakaba and Rin now, everything else is irrelevant.
Why won't they just exterminate Wakaba already? He's ruining any already sub-par show. I don't understand how Nips can fail this badly at writing someone who acts realistically at all. And then there is the hints of QUALITY already with scenes were more than half of the characters didn't even move and just stood like statues. Truly AOTY
>He really is the worst only bad part of the show.
The backgrounds are good, but the monotonous colours make it all boring and dragging.
All in all, the second episode was vastly better than I anticipated. It's got its own complexity and the mystery is well built. But the dark undertones don't work with me.
>muh "if you don't like it, then don't watch it"
If you don't watch tatsuki's latest, that poor man is gonna kill himself. Do you really want this anon?
You're pirating it anyways.
the bland, dark colors fit the grim darkness of the unhappy post-apocalypse.
if you want bright, vivid colors and a happy post-apocalypse, Kemono Friends might be more to your liking.
I mean it worked well for Girl's Last Tour where mostly everything was either white or grey depending on whether they were inside or outside the ruins of civilization.
Kemurikusa would probably have worked really well in the narrative style of GLT if it was just the girls riding their tree-tram through the endtimes. Using their skills to gather water, fighting the occasional bug, meeting the occasional survivor, slowly unraveling the mystery for the viewers as the world builds itself.
The ever-important Episode 3 introduces a new island, so if Tatsuki knows anything he'll add some variation to the setting.
First off, anyone thinking they're going to destroy Kadakowa is deluded. Enjoy not watching anime, reading manga/LNs/VNs or playing nip games because Kadakowa has their fingers in half of that shit.
Second off Kemono Friends 2 isn't that bad and it's much better than this one.
This. Kemurikusa woul've fair better without the generic harem-ish elements.
I know it's not harem, but an uptight tsundere girl falling in love with a meek but kind boy is basically a staple for the genre
Wakaba is annoying because he is voiced by an adult man. If he was voiced by a kid or a female (shota) voice actress he might have been ok, but being voiced by a (weak and effeminate) man is what makes him seem like a useless fag, given his behavior. I cringe every time he speaks but I'll put up with him in hopes he grows as a character. I would like to see his voice break at an important moment.
That's the point. It's a bleak decaying world where only a few brightly shining signs of life remain.
Lastly, I think I understand the appeal of Kemurikusa now: It's a quirky doujin production like something ZUN might have come up with, a nerd's autistic fantasy, that through chance a "nobody" outsider creator was given the opportunity to turn into a fully produced TV anime. In a time where almost everything is a manga or light novel adaptation, where even the big studios can rarely afford to produce original works, and nobody seems to have the creativity to make such a thing work to begin with, some otaku got the opportunity and the funding to make his dream show, and he's pouring everything into it. I haven't seen anything like it, and we probably won't ever again, so we should enjoy it while we can.
It's a matter of time before someone create a retard-friendly and easy-to-use 3DCG animation software.
Once that happens we'll see an explosion of web-anime (since TV-anime is tedious with their time-slot booking and whatnot).
Hopefully the ones getting churned out would at least be Houseki no Kuni level of quality, but corporate jewry probably won't allow that.
On the bright side, we'll have plenty of Tatsukis making their own original works.
On the down side, we'll have plenty of Jews milking the market with LN-tier garbage, and most anime adaptations will be made in 3DCG.
It shouldn't be hard to make a male character who is neither a total pussy nor a total asshole.
The tsundere girl is the one with most masculine traits in the show.
He is annoying, but I'm gonna blame it on his amnesia for now.
>wow everything is so interesting
At first it just seemed like he was a normal human isekai'd (and that might as well be true) acting like a fucking retard, but being amnesiac makes for a good excuse instead.
If he became GAR halfway thru the show, I'd change my opinion. Shame the chances of that are infinitesimal.
I am cautiously optimistic about this show.
>You're pirating it anyways.
We live in a society, anon. Every time you shill the series online, its triggers a series of butterfly effect that ends with some faggot actually spending money.
>dark colors fit the grim darkness
Escape from New York was fun, however. Knowing the list of ingredients doesn't mean you can cook a good meal.
While GAR is better than both the both the options previously showed, it is just another extreme. Guy that is good at everything: brains, brawl and getting pussy, that is only for the end, maybe.
Masculine guy that solves that wins some, loses some, sometimes get the blues without being an emo pussy then gets up and trucks on forward. It can be even an alpha guy as long he is not too GAR, to the point of parody.
I wonder how different they are from the web-anime. And if nips like the changes.

see for yourself
Wow the new one is actually worse
Why chance the style then, was it made by another studio? Kemono Friends style is not suited for just any other series.
Probably cheaper to reuse shitty cgi
What in the actual fuck is this?
the original was done by Tatsuki and 3 other folks.
the new one actually has a regular staff
gets your noggin joggin'
the original (award winning) Kemurikusa net anime from 2012
To be fair the new one has better movement and facial expressions. But everything else is worse.>>80552
I don't know what is worse. The damn character himself or his VA.
I want to punch him in the face.
>there are literally 4 character models in the entire show
>the same one is reused for three characters
It's like watching some guys in a car arguing about leaf's.
>It's like watching some guys in a car arguing about leaf's.
It's exactly that, anon
First episode was way too cringy, but I'm beginning to feel the kemono friends vibe now. Also, I'm glad there was no engrish in OP.
>1 day after the episode came out
>thread didn't bumb
>think "must have been a weak episode"
This isn't turning out to be very good. Or good at all.
Kemurikusa is turning out to be very disappointing, mainly because of its bleak world and uninteresting premise and shit characters.
I would rather they make a series out of that manta ray short.
I liked it. Wakaba isn't entirely useless now, and it seems like things will now go into motion with the robot that came out of the dead Nushi. Someone noticed that Ritsu's life thread is getting thinner each episode. I know she has shitty health, but I don't want her to die. I want to believe that all the sisters will be revived at some point.
Rest assured the otakus who wasted their money on the BDs won't forget this hack's reputation any time soon. Good riddance he got fired.
>I would rather they make a series out of that manta ray short.
Tatsuki might have easily topped Kemono Friends, had he gone with cute girls in uniform working with lackadaisacal spirit animals.
I'm now a bit hesitant what to think.
On one hand, he managed to make Kemono Friends' world shine in a unique light, on the other hand, his own script is chuuni shit, and his style certainly doesn't fit his dark and poorly written world, or even the shitty characters.
He needs a more bright and happy setting to offset the edge, that's why Keifuku-san seemed to work as well. I can only hope he gets this passion project out of the way, noticed people aren't going exactly crazy about it, and does Keifuku-san or something similar. But really, if Wakaba and/or the terrible seiyuu choice weren't in the series, it would be improved. Hell, even being meek but more quiet like Kaban would've made a better job.
>glad he got fired
You can see into the fucking future; weird how you didn't warm people back then So now KF isn't the bigger franchise it could've been, and this guy is doing a grimdark passion project with milquetoast reactions. What is there to be glad about, anon?
New character shows up at the end.
I'm only watching this out of loyalty. I can't believe they went for this monotonous thing. I loved the short with the girl and the flying manta ray ASMR, why can't we have more of that.
>why can't we have more of that
Because it has to revolve around a male protagonist.
Although I also think Wakaba isn't a positive to Kemurikusa, he's the least offender of the anime. Bad pacing is it's biggest problem.
have people gotten allergic to money?
>he's the least offender of the anime
While that MIGHT be true in itself, however given how seriously everything happens revolving around him (as is the case usually with a male protag), everything else has to be shown from pretty much his PoV, so no feeling of freedom to explore the world, or the girls themselves.
Just kill him, for fucks sake
Doesn't he just sound like an average gook?
How good is the reaction in Japan?
>LOL Ritsu you'r face is priceless! You're so daring! You go girl! 420 blaze it, lolololololol!
<I'm dying, Rin.
<I'm dying, nya. It hurts so much, nya
>when you're dramatic death is spoiled by shit animation
Where did wakaban come from, in the prototype?
It is mentioned earlier in the thread.
>THE GOD THAT SAVED KEMONO FRIENDS
He did not, the series owes equally to charadesign and seyuus: anyone could have directed it. But faggots are so in love with this made up success story, they will pretend he was the heart and brain of the whole operation. Remember: he was given a second chance to return working on the series and he refused, most likely because he's a vindictive little shit, so now the series will die for his ego.
Wakaba is isekai'd paisen
Good that we finally got some more lore this ep. It was about damn time as well.
This thing is pure boredom. But I would have loved to see the japari bus moving on legs.
The only hook it has on me is the lore. But it's being delivered so slowly it's hard to keep yself interested.
funny because KF2 finally started doing something with its plot as well
More of Wakaba being an idiot savant of some sort.
I like it when Ritsu starts talking a lot about Midori-chan, it's adorable that she has chances to get excited. Glad that Wakaba hasn't been as WOWIE-ZOWIE es before.
