Doctor Who proves old men are based
mayoids cant be based
Anyone started reading this? Any links up yet?

Sing along with me!
~I'm a Doctor Who fan
I'm obsessed with cuddly male authority figures~
Hartnell is either cuddly or scary depending on episode.
I want to watch all 8285 episodes of Emmerdale, is it a good idea?
Yes, and don't you dare post here again until you've seen them all. No watching them at 1.5x speed either.
>The Magician's Apprentice/The Witch's Familiar (2015)
goin overseas and goin to watch rtd casanova on the plane lolll
The question was where can I watch all Emmerdale episode online?
neo confronting you about your politicsposting a thread or two ago
>that color grading in the style of old Technicolor film stocks
"I've lost the idea of it" is such a kino scene and amazing work from Gatiss
oh shit, is that what that was? I've noticed that scene looks kind of, crisp? but I didn't realise what it was
Post all the brainlet wojaks you want Judy, TUAT is still kino.
To be fair, I have no complain about TUAT
Series 11 looks like shit compared to this
I like Hell Bent very much
What did Google mean by this?
what's that from again I forgot?
An Adventure in Space and Time 2 WHEN
Rumors that it will be about JNT
Who would play Colin, Davison and JNT?
Oh no no no no no no
Ever since my dad got a smartphone he's been using it during shows. Today we were watching Stranger things and the whole reason I haven't watched it all by now is because he wants to watch it aswell, and what does he do
HE GOES ON HIS PHONE FOR THE WHOLE FUCKING EPISODE AND IT MAKES NOISES. THE WORST PART IS THAT HE MAKES A NOISE WHENEVER SOMETHING WITH A LOUD NOISE HAPPENS TO SHOW THAT HE IS WATCHING.
AND I'VE NOTICED HIM DOING IT DURING THE CURRENT SERIES.
No Capaldi screaming can show my annoyance
Current series of Doctor Who
yo dad is a zoomer
Gatiss in TUAT talking about how he had accepted death but being arbitrarily prolonged fucked him up (remind you of any meta aspects regarding the show itself?)
How would you make it a celebration of Doctor Who? Because you would either show him running the show into the ground, or you focus on the seedier stories of him and Gary Downie raping teenage boys. And neither screams "love letter to the past".
only show the good parts
And I say that as a fan
Its about 5 inches long
>not just telling your dad to put his phone down or put it on silent
its not that hard
That but with The creation of new who, RTD trying to get the show made, Eccleston suddenly announcing he's leaving, not long before the first episode aired…. Rose leaking early….. Graham Norton interrupting Rose…. Rusty chainsmoking all the way through……
It would be kino
>BBC has the balls to make a docudrama about how they let a child rapist run one of their hit shows into the ground while never getting punished for any of his sex crimes
I keep telling him but his go to response is to ignore
I only listened to Charlie stories so I'd go with her. Rakhee is cute though.
There's no way it doesn't cover the Tom Baker years. I was thinking about it earlier and it'd be fucking impossible to cast someone to play Tom like Bradley playing Hartnell. You'd need to find an actor who looks like him and sounds like him.
As for Davison, I dunno. Maybe Michael Sheen?
Rakhee obviously, who's the dude?
Nah it’s all good, there’s a reason that links to some weird proxy site and not actually to Reddit, because N8 set up a bot on r/doctorwho and r/gallifrey to filter all links to the wiki. We should vanish from Google again before long, we’re only still listed by a quirk of indexing that should clear in roughly a month. We’re hidden from Google by robots.txt, but all that work is undone if somebody links to us, but we should be back to being le super sikrit club soon enough.
Sacha Baron as TOM
>Graham Norton interrupting Rose
I literally just found out about this for the first time last night, did anyone watch the episode live remember that happening?
>The Express runs a bullshit story
I M A G I N E M Y S H O C K
Okay that's actually not bad
Sloath, Ingiga, Capaldo, NOE, etc
Sorry I'm late. Jumped out of a window. Certain death. Don't you want to know how I survived? Go on, ask me.

The thinking man's waifu for sure
The first rule of being interrogated is that you are the only irreplaceable person in the torture chamber. The room is yours, so work it. If they're going to threaten you with death, show them who's boss. Die faster. And you've seen me do that more often than most. Isn't that right, Ingiga? Rule one of dying, don't. Rule two, slow down.
There's a dailymotion version that has it, I can root around if you want, it should be in my history
Sloath et al, the next day I can make is Sunday. I'm sorry I caused you to delay today - I expected you to go ahead without me. I would be fine with that if it ever happens again, by the way.
He plays the Nine
Explain those numbered Villains
It’s OK, Morph, we’re happy to wait for you.
How can Mandip compete with this qt
sorry, I thought it would be there, but the link is dead, so maybe the video got deleted or something.
no but I remember this vividly. The cheeky beggar keeps interrupting doctor who. I've no doubt he'll turn up next week somehow
every time he regenerates, he gets a new personality, but keeps all the old ones. he changes his name each time he regenerates. I think the 9 is the one that's actually nice, but he has to deal with 8 evil personalities in his head
I'd never noticed how bad the Revelation Dalek shells are, they look so much better when altered
what about the Transparent?
There wasn't an image of that
do they voice 8 actors at the same time
the one actor does loads of different voices. I've only listened to doom coalition 1 and 2, but the guy who plays the 11 is really good at switching between personalities in a believable way
I did find these images as well
heh yeah I remember that
Graham Norton would genuinely improve Series 11 if he was in it tho
Post S11E11 cliffhanger predictions
Dogdor bregnand :DDDD
finale has nothing special
arcs are for plebs
Best classic Dalek colour schemes, the orange lights are fucking GOAT
>when your 3 favourite Doctors haven't done Big Finish
It's fair bros
but they're all dead
3 is, 9 and 12 aren't
At we get Missy kino
Have you ever considered the fact that all of your favourite Doctors are also the most masculine Doctors? Do you think there's anything to be said for that pattern?
9 likes the theatre (The Unquiet Dead). You're point is invalid.
>subject of Doctor Who writers comes up in a conversation on a discord I'm in
>someone says this (after saying they stopped watching the show after Smith left)
Masculine men can't enjoy theatre?
Isn't Hartnell not a chad?
>otherwise it would be vapid and numbing
isn't that ChibnallWho tho
4 is the most masculine are you kidding me
Is 12 very masculine? He seems quite vulnerable, if a little closed off…. He's my favourite Doctor because he's so relatable to me. Mostly in his flaws, I'm not exactly a brave hero
13 is the most masculine doctor this is canon
Rate Doctors from most masculine to least masculine. I'm really not sure, but I know 13 is more masculine than 8
What does that even mean? What makes them more masculine than the others? And just who are Angstrom and Epzo?
>your doctor is too masculine
holy fucking soyboy
And they’re both CUTE!
5 and 8 are the most feminine Doctors.
I should probably mention that I'm not implying it's a bad thing. I'm curious as to whether you think there's anything one might draw from that pattern - or if you think there's a pattern at all.
5 sacrificed himself to save someones life, A FEMO*D WOULD NEVER DO THAT!
5, 8 and 12 are the most feminine dr whos
1, 3, 7 and 9 are the most masculine dr whos
everyone else inbetween
okay im getting that 12 is most feminine from you, and most masculine from anon. what's going on? which is he?
Matt Berry as Tom Baker
An adventure in space and time 2 but it's about how chibnall killed the show
>chibnall killed the show
more people are watching now than who watched that ugly old man, sweetie. nobody cares if your secret fanclub doesn't like it
>>show becomes fullblown communist propaganda
>12 is most feminine dr who
That's funny, because Moffat Who does a lot with framing 12 as patriarchal, and his arc can be summed as "dealing with his toxic masculinity."
If you can't tell the difference between real world issues being used to enrich entertainment and entertainment being hijacked to propagandise about said real world issues then you are braindead.
Do you have any links to people talking about this, and also would you mind expanding a little? I've not heard about this idea before, and honestly I've not really seen it, but I can be dumb as a brick with these things
>his arc can be summed as "dealing with his toxic masculinity."
You can sum his arc that way but why the fuck would you.
>Immigrant presents a hot take
>/who/ can't cope
allow him to expand on it
Can we talk about Clara's toxic femininity???????????
no we can't you fucking sexist
There's no rule that says I have to pretend to take immigrant seriously
why is /who/ so hostile tonight
There's a hot take and then there's made up gobbledygook
Edge, what the fuck are you doing in /who/? I thought you were dead or something
RTD is a very masculine gay man and I have it on good authority he is a big fan of the song "Toxic".
Oh my god he's poz
I'm just very quiet.
I had an objective dream, /who/
I don't agree with this take but I like how it riled up /who/, well done.
It's just a reaction gif, calm down
>his toxic masculinity
fuck i meant to reply to >>140750 lol
this might be the best gif i have ever seen
why does this gif exist
I didn't make it, but I love it all the same.
I'm still intrigued, and waiting for someone to expand on it in some way
He's right you know.
>by Gallifrey Immigrant
Been awhile since I've seen that.
i wanna wait for some further elaboration but.
I can understand the take and I think it makes sense but I also feel like it's reductive to narrow it down to something so specific, so much of masculinity is based on society and I don't think you can apply the same standards you would in real life to The Doctor, I just feel like his growth is so much more complex than that.
You should do the tripcast sometime.
I agree and I'm actually the one who listed him as one of the most feminine Dr Whos, i'm just suprised that it's apparently pretty far from common opinion. I reckon Sandy's S8 eruditorum entries expand on this topic and overall it strikes pretty obvious from "do as you are told" stuff
Can you imagine how fucking hot it would be if we had a shot of Jodie looking down sternly and saying "Do as you are told"?
Whether to Ryan or Yaz I leave to the individual imagination.
I literally brought out that oldie but goodie solely for you, Cloyman. Knew you'd get a kick out of it.
>tfw been shit posting with based Cloister for half a fucking decade now
Interesting takes. Oh, and BvS is a terrible, incoherent film :)
Who cares about Tennant's in laws
It's misleading to suggest that he used the word feminine. He said that the Doctor is an emotionally sensitive nonviolent character and for those traits to be applied to a woman corresponds to a stereotype.
my bad, I haven't seen the interviews in a while.
Last I saw that wasn't his objection, it was that the doctor was usually portrayed as a slightly incompetent man of thought rather than a competent man of action, and that as the general shape of the series was "The Doctor gets into trouble, the (often female) companion gets them out", due to the reality of television production they'd end up with a scatterbrained female doctor bungling into danger and being rescued by her competent male companion.
Remarkably, that's basically what we've got except nobody ever actually gets out of danger, the danger just goes away.
i didn't realize i was remembering his argument so wrong lmao. gonna delete it now since you two explained it so much better.
Pretty unlikely. I'd have to take notes and like pay attention and unless it can be done in 5 minute bursts according to my whims and timetable it's nearly logistically impossible.
Aw, aren't you sweet! I do adore /who/ and it's /who/res. Even the ones that give me headaches.
I think it's a good argument against it. There are no good arguments against a female doctor on it's face. Also, does anyone care what the actor who portrayed 5 thinks? 5 should have been the first female doctor anywho.
YouTube embed. Click thumbnail to play.
actual good video about why SU is shit in vid related
>5 should have been the first female doctor anywho.
would have been a good time for it. it wouldnt be so fucking political now
Finally listened to the Destination Wars. Wasn't the Third Doctor surprised to learn his old friend was calling himself the Master now? And also, it seems like the Doctor should have been a bit more surprised that his old friend had turned out evil, rather than being mad and going after him right away.
Also, the Master being completely unable to guide the TARDIS any better doesn't quite jive with his later portrayals… and also he has the exact voice and intonation as the Shalka Master which was weird.
Wait, Five wasn't played by Patricia Davison?
Hopefully no errors on the discs this time. The process of getting the replacements was irritating.
Looks really nice actually, too bad it's the wrong region for me :(
>tfw no Joanna Lumley, Lalla Ward or Diana Rigg 5
YouTube embed. Click thumbnail to play.
I've literally been wanting this since Adventure in Space and Time was announced.
I think she'd be a better female 6 or 7 but I see what you're going for
>it wouldnt be so fucking political now
Now would be the other time to do it, now would have been the opportunity to do it right. But no instead we get the smoke and mirrors version written by a man that takes 10 minutes every morning to glue on his wig because his male vanity can't cope with going bald. The wig is his totem that enables this clusterfuck.
That would be great. The voice is the most important bit of tom's er essence. I can't think of anyone that has such a rich tone as Tom other than MB
I honestly never bothered, the minor faults are only on the shit serials anyway.
>Microsoft Internet explorer in a cups
>The wig is his totem that enables this clusterfuck.
kek. excellent perspective
Remember that part where they show little clips of things Hartnell had done before?
Imagine the Tom Baker version of that. And imagine it's Matt Berry doing this scene.
When Tom dies they're gonna recast 4 with Culshaw
Imagine if when the Servers gave their Inventor Alerts it was the four beeps from The Sound of Drums.
I tought Culshaw was older, but he is only 50
Trapped again in the sodding time vortex.
I've not seen the film, but Tom Baker as rasputin is inspired casting, and MB doing rasputin is now one the things I want to see before I die. Hell I'd watch AAISAT2: electric boogaloo redone with the cast from darkplace. Also lets replace Jermaine Clement on Legion with MB, he's basically just doing MB anyway.
>I've not seen the film, but Tom Baker as rasputin is inspired casting
It's a 60s epic, one of the last, so it's a lush and gorgeous film that really drags on towards the end. I would specifically say that all the fun just drains out of the movie after they kill Rasputin, but a quick glance in a history book would have told you that. Also Brian Cox is apparently Stalin, but he's so young and thin that he's completely unrecognizable.
Coming soon from BF productions ORIGINALS
The Rasputin Chronicles
Oh, and Czar Nicholas is played by the Valeyard.
>Chris Chibnall wears his wig for the ritualistic power it gives him like why Faction Paradox wears their masks
How many sets will Big Finish wring out of Jenna Coleman when they gather enough dirt on her
actually part one cliffhanger of Reign of Terror is kino
why hasn't she fucking done any yet im seriously on the verge right now
refresh my memory
I bet no more than one per couple of years
Jenna is already high profile actress and there's only way up from there with her abilities
Reign of Terror is almost peak Hartnell. All he needs is Vicki following him around like the Crusades.
I may just do that on a rainy day. There's something about that old technicolor look that's so comfy too. Thanks for reminding/recommending it to me.
If I had more time or autism I'd graph his levels of baldness to his story quality. For now my headcannon is that his writing prowess was likened to samson's strength and the wig is a desperate attempt to get it back.
She's been a bit busy from what I understand. BF is where tv actors are put out to pasture.
The Doctor is left unconscious in a burning house
i wish rasputin could have become a moffat style recurring historical friend of the doctor's
barbara, ian and susan are taken away to the paris meanwhile dr who is lying unconscious in the burning house and roof falls down on him
I generally hate how slow this serial is but there's some merit to it for sure
DEMONS OF THE PUNJAB TEASERS
1. A stack of letters, a pressed flower, a broken watch
2. “Don’t read the filthy bits.”
3. Line most likely to spawn a Big Finish audio: “I have apologized for the death-eyed turtle army. Profusely.”
4. Graham admits the real reason he’s continued to travel with the Doctor: to be *ted.
5. The Doctor again awards “points” . . . sorta.
6. “Oil, water, tree bark, a sauce pan, nine containers, an old newspaper, a touch of ox spit, a chicken poo, and a biscuit.”[/spoiler]
7. Someone takes “a bit of a shine” to Graham.
8. Second best line: “I never did this when I was a man!”
9. Telepathic circuit! Transmat! Einstein! shopping, catching a movie, bowling
10. She’s not just pushing boundaries, she’s eliminating borders!
11. “Manish, will you let me f*** you?”
one teaser escaped the spoiler tag i hope its ok kek
>10. She’s not just pushing boundaries, she’s eliminating borders!
I've always thought that Rasputin being a Time Lord (maybe just The Master fucking around in Russia) would be such a no-brainer for the show to do, I wonder why they haven't already.
How did colonial indians feel about lesbians?
Possibly it's too obvious? I dunno. They did eventually do Time Lord Mary Poppins and Time Lord Santa, though.
>we've had an unbroken Doctor Who story since June 2017
It came to a pretty decisive end between Arachnids and Tsuranga, though
Incorrect, 13 attempted landings between Ghost and Rosa + some between Rosa and ARachnids
Big Finish stories 10 years from now dont count, they all pretty much lead into eachother with no room for extra stories
Graham mentions 13 attempted landings in either TGM or Rosa
yes but attempted landings arent a story, you may as well include offscreen bathroom breaks
they all changed clothes
Faction Paradox did one with him. He’s one of the cult of celebrity death part of the Faction
Regardless the image is wrong and you are also wrong
>11. “Manish, will you let me f*** you?”
of course they changed their clothes, no one wants to keep wearing the same clothes after an orgy
yeah its back to the shitty RTD ego format where no one else is allowed to touch their doctor
>inb4 character development
you can have development AND off screen adventures
Did you miss all the times 9 and Rose talk about offscreen adventures in Boomtown and Bad Wolf
the first few eps of most new who seasons are continuous to be fair.
god I wonder what it was like when 13 finally was able to release that shit she'd been holding in
Love & Monsters -> Smith & Jones are all present day London… I'm sure you can slot in any number of offscreen adventures, but from the perspective of someone watching the show for the first time, it's 6 episodes in present day London in a row.
>post yfw Graham fucks Yaz's grandmother in DOTP and retroactively becomes her grandfather
Fear Her is future/past London
I suppose so, but it's contemporary. It's not an alien world, and it's not a historical period. It's roughly contemporary London
well at the time it was written Fear Her took place in the future
What would an episode written by him be like?
yeah but at least after Smith & Jones there are only 2 modern London episodes until the finale
>yfw he does this and stays in the past permanently because he finally got over grace
biggest pleb in this screencap is the one getting pissy that it's called Dr Who
I cant believe someone corrected him for writing it dr who. What the fuck is wrong with Who fans?
true. I'm not even saying it's a bad thing, it's a cool little detail if anything
can we bring moffat back yet
unironically he would save this series and trim out the fat
yaz goes away because she has no character
ryan/graham stay and get developed more
stories are more interesting. none of the current ones hold up on repeat viewings at all, some only one even. most moffat episodes were just as good if not better on future viewings.
probably a better arc, the timeless child is probably the worst nuwho arc so far.
this series is trash so far, I really REALLY wanted to like it. jodie is perfect casting. but the writing sucks so bad.
ROSE: The Doctor took me to this planet a while back. It was much colder than this. They called it Woman Wept. The planet was actually called Woman Wept, because if you looked at it, right, from above, there's like this huge continent, like all curved round. It sort of looked like a woman, you know, lamenting. Oh my God, and we went to this beach, right. No people, no buildings, just this beach like a thousand miles across. And something had happened, something to do with the sun, I don't know, but the sea had just frozen. In a split second, in the middle of a storm, right, waves and foam, just frozen, all the way out to the horizon. Midnight, right, we walk underneath these waves a hundred feet tall, made of ice.
>bill had more character in her first episode than yaz has in 5 episodes so far
> the timeless child is probably the worst nuwho arc so far.
wait til you see how it ties in to the hybrid prophecy
And then in the finale Ryan and Yasmin both simultaneously call him grandad for the first time as he’s dying
the real horseshoe theory is that the most casual fans of the show and the most dedicated fans of the show are fine with it being referred to as Dr. Who but people who are in between that range and just got into the show a few months ago and has only seen the Matt Smith and Jodie episodes are the ones who think they need to prove themselves as dedicated fans by correcting people who call it Dr. Who
the fuck do they think "Dr." is short for if not "doctor"? "Door"?
London was attacked by WOTAN, The Chameleons and The Daleks all on the same day
>okay there is an arc
>okay im not gonna mention it ever again
>Bill had more lines in her first scene than Yaz has had in 5 episodes so far
Y I K E S

it's not important whether it's true or not. What's important is that you asked that question. It wasn't obviously false, and that's an issue

Reasons why TUAT is a dream:
>The Doctor imagines his hair as longer than it was in The Doctor Falls
>The Doctor remembers his first face wrong
>He remembers his first self as more sexist than he really was.
>The Doctor doesn't know Bill didn't die, so in his imagination she's back for a different reason, and makes no reference to Heather, because 12 doesn't know Heather came back
>Seeing 2 Masters inspired the Doctor to imagine meeting himself
>Seeing Mondasian Cybermen inspired the Doctor to imagine that 1 had arrived from the events of 'The Tenth Planet'
>There's no real villain. Sounds like the Doctor's dream come true
>The resolution is confusing. He sent Mark Gatiss's character forward in time a few hours, but what about Toby Whithouse's character? Dreams don't always make 100% sense
>He uses the blue sonic when it when there is no way he was still holding it when Bill took him to the TARDIS in TDF, and 13 not having the screwdriver in her pocket pretty much confirms it wasn't in 12's pocket at all, after TDF.
>No one really dies because there's an artificial afterlife? Sounds like a rip off of the matrix, and exactly the sort of wishful thinking 12 is always up to.
>I don't like it very much so it's not canon
>and makes no reference to Heather, because 12 doesn't know Heather came back
DOCTOR: How is that even possible?
BILL: Well, long story short. I totally pulled.
DOCTOR 1: You, you did what?
BILL: Heather. Do you remember, the girl in the puddle? Well, she showed up. She came for me.
DOCTOR: How romantic. Where is she?
BILL: Well, she's. She's.
DOCTOR: And how did you get here?
BILL: I don't… I, I can't
DOCTOR: You can't remember. No, I bet you can't. (He scans her again.)
3 companions is too much for nuwho. the episodes aren't long enough.
Ah, I haven't seen TUAT in a while. I can fix this one though. Maybe 12 guessed that Heather might come back because of the tear, but didn't have the details, which is why Bill can't remember….. I know I know, I'm reaching… (pic related)
>Chibnall made the episodes longer, and still doesn't have the time to resolve a simple plot
What happened to Krasko? The one spider at Yas's neighbour's place? What about all the other toxic wastes dumps that might have their own spiders?
3 companions work when they each fit different roles (see S6 premiere)
The problem with S11 is that every companion is written as "the companion". They all fit the same purpose in the story, and it's very rare that anything individually unique about them is ever relevant (why hasn't yasmin's police training ever been relevant to how she dealt with a situation?)
This is made even worse by the fact that chibnall falls back on "every companion takes a turn giving a one line reaction to an event", or disperses the dialogue for "the companion" between the three of them in scenes where the doctor has to explain something to "the companion"
it's fine if each companion was given time to develop as characters on their own before becoming part of the group. Series 5 had River/Amy/Rory for the finale and that trio reappeared a lot in Series 6, and it works. Amy is given time to develop in the first few episodes. River we got to know in the library two-parter in Series 4 and get to know her more in the Angel two parter. Then she leaves and Rory joins the group for a few episodes before dying and then we get Amy and the Doctor for 3 episodes (well 2 episodes, and the Doctor and Craig for 1) and then all 3 of them together for the finale two parter. It works great.
9/11 never forget
>why hasn't yasmin's police training ever been relevant to how she dealt with a situation
very good point. even fucking martha had some moments where she used her medical background. and martha was super undeveloped as well.
>chibs managed to write a companion worse than martha
>"You'll talk to JJ for me, right? Us Doctor's gotta stick together!"
>[mumbling]"Haha unless it's the 50th"
>"I said I'll get JJ your number as soon as I can"
The best chibnall can come up with is "not all police" and "just like the camera on my uniform!"
>chibs managed to write a companion worse than martha
but it cant be
Martha's actually alright though. Yasmin doesn't even have a personality
it's kino sorry we already decided this.
what do you think though? Is it a dream?
Twice Upon a Time. And then she's caught up to series 11
Interpreting it as a dream eliminates most of the issues people have with it
I'm not bothered by it being real though
Yeah but that episode is all in capaldi's head though
Woman Who Fell - Ryan loses his mother figure
Ghost Monument - Angstrom is trying to win the prize for her children
Arachnids in the UK - Spider just wants to protect her children
Tsuranga - Ginger man gives birth to child
This has more motherhood allegories than Other M.
maybe, i do prefer 12 dying in TDF than TUAT but im fine with either
>for her children
I thought it was her family, not necessarily her offspring?
>You either end as kino, or continue unbroken long enough to see yourself become onik.
Yeah it's shit and an unbelievably cheap, universe-shrinking, unimaginative, boring, limiting way to have written a "First" Master. Appallingly bad conception of the character.
is there a more kino combination of finale + Christmas special than
>husbands of river song
fair enough. I just really like the dream idea, because it actually feels like it's supported by evidence (I dont believe for one second that Moffat intended it to be a dream, but it seems like there's evidence supporting it), and because it just feels like a dream to me. There's something about the idea of the doctor overcoming unresolved conflict in a dream, while his mind heals that is appealing to me
Husbands is a truly kino epilogue to series 9. I know Neo likes to think of Face the Raven and Sleep No More as a 2 parter, but the real kino story is the four-parter:
Face The Raven / Heaven Sent / Hell Bent / The Husbands of River Song
actually it's a 5 parter, I'm including doctor mysterio too
>actually it's a 5 parter, I'm including doctor mysterio too
ABSOLUTELY FUCKING BASED
what do you think of World Enough and Time - Arachnids being a 7 parter?
No. Is the answer to your question.
Hell Bent is a pitch perfect end to Doctor Who as a whole and Husbands is a pitch perfect end to Moff's era specifically
Capaldi era had an incredibly kino approach of making christmas specials explicitly epilogues to the series that preceded it
>dark water/death in heaven/last christmas
>heaven sent/hell bent/husbands of river song
>world enough and time/the doctor falls/twice upon a time
Dr Who about death
Series 8 about death of bystanders
Series 9 about death of loved ones
Series 10 about death of self
I don't subscribe to the whole "unbroken episodes = parter" thing.

There's so much of S11 I have to remind myself actually aired and wasn't just some too-critical parody imagined up by the threads.
what's your deal with Sleep No More and Face the Raven?
I've still never listened to Big Finish or read an EU novel—and that makes me incredibly happy!
They are both a deconstruction of the traditional episode formula where everything goes wrong
What books do you like?
I listened to the first metacrisis 10 audio and it was actually interesting
knew it was gonna be like this from the "staying true to yourself" speech.
No. The closest contender is Pandorica Opens/Big Bang/Christmas Carol, but purely because they're comfy as fuck, not because they go together massively well (at least not in any way I've noticed).
Husbands is so perfect as a comedy episode positioned right after 12's lowest and most broken point.
>I haven't laughed in a long time!
And crucially its "final settling of accounts" tone makes it feel like something has changed for the Doctor, and he's been influenced by recent events to bring things to an end.
fair enough I guess. Are they the only s9 episodes that do this?
Mostly nonfiction but I love Dickens, Douglas Adams was my favourite as a kid, I've been getting into Pynchon and books by Alex Garland lately. Dracula is next on my list, for mostly Moffaty reasons.
>BILL: Heather. Do you remember, the girl in the puddle? Well, she showed up. She came for me.
>DOCTOR: How romantic.
I wonder how many explicit sex jokes Moffat had to restrain himself from including in Who.
S9 is built upon parallelism, duality, hybrids. Sleep No More and Face the Raven are both episodes addressing the artifice of Doctor Who and both feature narrative breakdowns, "bad endings", both feature Clara being fatally infected. Sleep No More specifically breaks down the format of the show, being an in-universe construction of a dodgy episode of Doctor Who, not to mention the out-of-narrative lacking of the opening titles and superficial break in the series' two-parter structure. Face the Raven lets Clara extend her mantling of the Doctor role to the apparent logical conclusion, which is of course, for a human, death, relegating the Doctor back to a fantastical role (in keeping with the artifice of Sleep No More), not a figure that can be emulated in any meaningful or useful way. Both episodes were the necessary breaking-the-show-down (after the earlier episodes methodically restating tenets of the show) required to set up the show's reconstruction in Hell Bent.
>everything goes wrong
stupid dumb bitch fuck mary sue clara so important oswald dies in face the raven though, doesnt sound like anything went wrong to me! (not sexism)
He named his last ever episode TUAT, so he clearly wasn't doing a good job at holding himself back.
Actually you know what, I kind of get it now. Thanks. I understood Hell Bent as kind of reconstructing the show from the ground up, and even that Sleep No More was a dodgy episode, but I didnt realise Face The Raven was also a Who episode that goes wrong.
If Terrance Dicks wasn't retired, Moff would have hired him for an episode just so he could have "written by DICKS" on the press release.
>It was on the planet Skaro that my old enemy the Master was finally put on trial. They say he listened calmly as his list of evil was read and sentence passed.
>Then he made his last, and I thought somewhat curious, request.
>He demanded that I, the Doctor, a rival Time Lord, should take his remains back to our home planet, Gallifrey.
>It was a request they should never have granted.
>both feature Clara being fatally infected.
how did this happen in sleep no more again? what was the resolution?
She used Morpheus.
A Christmas Carol/The Impossible Astronaut/Day of the Moon go together thematically.
Why did the Daleks honor his request and message it to the Doctor? Why did the Daleks read out the list of evil things he did?
and there was no resolution, which is in keeping with Sleep No More being constructed, but taken at face value couples very effectively with Face the Raven, especially with how it ended in her death anyway.
Sleep No More and Face the Raven aren't a two parter, but they rhyme. Like the universe.
I'm amazed Moff put "the universe is like poetry, it rhymes" in an episode but it was worded so elegantly no one really memed about it
An attempt at detente early in the Time War
idk man, why do the daleks sound like they have a throat infection in that episode, why do they do anything?
…what's the quote?
Face the Raven is constructed too. "We needed a mystery. You can never resist a mystery."
Also, they're specifically executing him for the things he's done to them.
>Sleep No More -> No More -> Nevermore
>Quoth the Raven, "Nevermore"
>…what's the quote?
"How are physics and poetry the same?"
"Because of the rhymes."
There was also a deleted line where Twelve explicitly states the universe rhymes.
Imagine if there was an episode halfway through the series where The Doctor and his companions faced an alien which worked like The Thing, defeated it and at the end of the series one of the companions is outed as an unknowing duplicate who'd been killed and made into a copy?
Is there any significance to the fact that Sleep No More is conspicuously first-person in a way the show rarely is and then the next episode's villain is named "Me"?
I've been working on something playing off that with those episodes. Great minds.
Little bit Ganger-Amy-esque.
Eh I can see where you draw that but Me's name came from ep6 so while I think you can go ahead and do that it's not as neat as if the name originated in FTR.
Please post the funniest or otherwise most notable screenshot from S11 ep5.
Do you think the name materialized out of nothing?
I'll materialise something out of nothing for you *unzips dick*
>Amy doesn't turn into a puddle of yoghurt
>Amy DOES turn into a walking Eldritch Abomination
The Raven and Heaven Sent are stories where the protagonist is mourning the loss of their loved one, while being tormented by repetition and loneliness until he goes mad.
I think there's a fetish for girls made of gooey stuff. But then again, there's a fetish for fucking everything nowadays
I actually really genuinely like that scene. Excellent comedic beats.
No, as I watched episode 6 and heard the explicit-in-the-text justification for the name then.
i'd like to comedically beat chibnall
I… uh, I think they're called Slime Girls. Apparently.
Try Corruption of Champions sometime, you'll learn some real fetishes there.
What I'm taking pains to imply is that Me's name was chosen due to its significance to the two-parter.
Even the way jodie looks at the hologram?
I recognise that them all saying "pting?" in unison is meant to be a comedy beat, but it feels like the sort of thing that you would see in a preschool show and completely detached from reality
is that the reddit incest thing?
Oh it's for the podcast. Literally just use the feed & seed
>no audio recording of Capaldi reading The Raven
If only. Then someone could make a video that plays his reading on top of correlating footage from Series 9.
Would've been interesting if Treehouse kept on telling their stories seriously instead of going crazy with it
This picture had me howling. It's like series 11 in a nutshell; 13 overacting like an annoying child and Yaz literally looking like a fucking cardboard cutout with an absolutely NOTHING expression on her face jesus christ fucking look at her face just look at it I can't fucking breathe
That's already got a pic desu.
who more cardboard
funny facial expressions are acting right?
The first and only good season of Broadchurch revolved around a child murder. One of the best Chibnall episodes of Torchwood was the one where Gwen investigated a child disappearance. Maybe Chib should go VNA Dark for Series 12 and make every episode about dead or missing children.
The Sleep No More/Face the Raven thing makes perfect sense but still irritates me, because Face the Raven is a great episode about Clara and Sleep No More writes her like a fucking cardboard cutout.
inb4 it's bad on purpose
I'd suggest they can be taken as the twin hells for Clara - consigned to die for all the character's well-written efforts, or consigned to a lifetime of mediocrity of diminishing returns in Doctor Who episodes by poor writers (in universe and out).
Anon, it's funny. It's supposed to be funny.
Aside from the shadows on the floor, that's not bad.
It's not my sense of humor
moff should have made 12 drop an F bomb
chib's gonna make thirteen drop an F (Family) bomb
How would you have written a 1/Master story?
I liked the bit where he and Susan knew each other. I would have played that up a little bit. I also loved him and Ian's interactions, that felt absolutely perfect. Probably would have had him keep to "the inventor" and instead of playing him as the villain from the start, would have gone more like Utopia, which this episode is an obvious parallel to. To differentiate him from, say, the monk, I would have just done what they obviously wanted to do, which was only call him the "master of hypnosis" or maybe even "the master of invention".
chib's gonna make Ryan drop an F (Fortnite) bomb
"Ryan, Graham, Yaz, fam, I'm pregnant. You wouldn't know the father, he was a very old man. The original, you might say."
>tfw ryan didn't do a fortnite dance after shooting the sniperbots
The "every episode ends in a cliffhanger" ended up being bullshit. It feels like a few adventures took place between Arachnids in the U.K and The Tsuranga Conundrum.
That wasn't ever promised to us though
I wouldn't have desu, I think BF have forgotten (if they ever knew) the value of mystery and ambiguity, and the Master's entry in 3's era is perfect as is.
To be fair, a bizarrely small minority of fans think Terror of the Autons if the first time the Master reveals his new evil persona to the Doctor. Other fans keep insisting the Monk/the War Chief/some random Hartnell/Troughton villain was a prior incarnation despite the counter-evidence.
I wonder why "these characters have a shared history we don't need to literally see" is a problem for some people.
>Master / War Chief are same person
I semi-ironically see this as canon but I'm not gonna fight on this position
same, but for me, I just like perversely coming up with headcanons that link random shit together. Like, After the ood were freed, there was a market for a slave trade, but no taste for slavery, so voc robots sold like hot-cakes…. or The whole "the beast and sutekh are two elements of the same being" theory, because they have the same voice actor…
is there a heaven sent kino collage?
I'd like to "fight" a certain /who/re in a certain "position" if you know what I mean.
anyone have some kino collages from the big finish audio adventures?
What, like the covers?

Say Jim Mortimore has written something better than any Moffat and /who/ will nod its head in agreement but to phrase it as Big Finish making something better than any Moff episode will anger them
You seem confused. Nobody gets upset about old Big Finish. New Big Finish is what would never be capable of surpassing Moffat.
Say "Nilso is gay and that's okay" and /who/ will nod its head in agreement but to phrase it as "Gay people can be conservative and that's okay" will anger them
Outside of /who/, who still gives a shit about Jim Mortimore? His next Flux Doctor book isn't out.

>implying I'd be invited anyway
I wouldn't want to go on because I'm certain that I wouldn't be able to come up with any genuinely reflective points like everyone else does, everyone seems to gleam a lot more stuff from the new stories than I seem to and that's a good thing. If I have nothing important of note for the review there'd be no point having me on
>not titling it A Man in Labor
I thought it was referring to Ashildir/Me
i get that. I know I wouldn't have anything to contribute, so I really appreciate the ones who do the podcast. Not that I would ever tell them of course, wouldn't want them getting too big headed.
Is Ashildr a power hungry leader in Hell Bent?
i agree with this post but i still havent listened to the podcast and don't plan on doing so.
That hasn't stopped some guests from coming on :)
It's actually referring to Ohila.
>I love it - conceptually, and actually!
>wouldn't want them getting too big headed.
My head is perfectly huge all on its own.
Doctor Who is facing his biggest battle yet - against custard creams.
Lead star Peter Capaldi has reportedly been banned from eating the biscuits after taking a fancy to them during fiming.
Co-star Jenna Coleman - who plays his sidekick Clara Oswald - is allegedly the person responsible for getting the actor hooked.
Producers are believed to have got worried when the brunette asked catering to order heaps of the treats for the cast.
Bosses have since panicked about the stars' diets and ordered the snacking to stop.
However sneaky Jenna isn't prepared to go cold turkey just yet.
A source told The Daily Star: "They've been taken off the menu but Jenna keeps an emergency packet in her dressing room."
The BBC have denied that biscuits are not allowed.
It’s bizarre how many doctor who viewers want Clara physically harmed.
Yikes this is cringey
>talking about the possibility the doctor could be somehow pregnant with the timeless child

>they will have to suffer through the first female Doctor having a pregnancy arc
Wow. Someone has done their domestic violence research.
Oh no could you imagine if the Doctor had a kid or if the Doctor had a granddaughter oh no the show is ruined
Do you think there would be any normie backlash if the first plot with a female doctor involved pregnancy, or do they not care about the implications of that?
It would be hot and therefore acceptable
it's so ridiculous that people would watch out of morbid curiosity but they'd slag it off to no end. (as would i)
>if the first plot with a female doctor involved pregnancy
like the first episode? I think people would be mostly mad because it's lazy writing.

Wew, all I needed to do was quickly mention toxic masculinity in 1 post, and /who/ got triggerred.
Part of toxic masculinity, as a concept, is the parts of the masculine gender norm that stifles and hurt men–not all masculinity is bad, but parts of what is considered proper behaviour for a "man" can be harmful for both the men constrained by that ideal, and the women who interact with those men. Those parts can include "emotional restraining, not being willing to show emotional vulnerability, constantly needing to be a saviour, overworking one's self to provide for others". Women can have these traits, but society doesn't reinforce these traits in the same way for women (society reinforces a different set of traits needed to be a "proper woman" that can be just as harmful.
The Twelfth Doctor's entire character arc is based at least somewhat in gender norms in how it's framed. 12 is marked by being emotionally withdrawn, and initially edgy to the point of cruelty. His arc is about peeling away those layers, to show the vulnerability within.
Also, the "Heaven Sent/Hell Bent" arc is all about toxic masculinity. Part of toxic masculinity is how revenge plots often focus on the man's (it's usually a man) need for revenge, overriding the victim's (usually a woman) point-of-view in the story, or even her express wishes. In Hell Bent, 12 goes on a violent takeover of Gallifrey, shoots an unarmed man, and reverses the death of a friend that she had willingly chose, all out of his pain. It's a understandable response, but still rooted in his pain and in him performing in a patriarchal role as a "saviour." You could say I'm reaching, but
A) Part of the Eleventh Doctor's era was about criticizing his tendency to go out and destroy everything to save his loved ones (remember, the "Colonel Runaway" scene might be cool, but 11 still got manipulated into losing Amy's baby anyway.)
B) Hell Bent subverts the "revenge" ending–12 never even remembers what he does, and loses Clara possibly forever, whereas the ending focuses on Clara's decison instead of 12's.
There's also the way that 12 is taken to task for thinking of mindwiping Clara.
I need to make something clear–Moffat doesn't necessarily think that 12 or 11 is a human bloke. Rather, he uses the tropes of being a bloke, to show the aristocratic privileges of being a Time Lord. The tropes of toxic masculinity and up as a way to show how the power from literally being a Lord of Time still sometimes affects the Doctor, despite his efforts. This is why TUAT One ends up being written as sexist–to show how much Twelve has grown from his younger days, although that didn't work as well.
You should go on anyway. Do it for the memes.
The concept of "toxic masculinity" triggers people because they interpret it as "masculinity is inherently toxic" rather than "there are aspects of masculine culture that have negative consequences"
>Chris, what is going on?
<I told you. You're dead. This is the afterlife. And I'm God.

I'd wish Ron Moore ran Doctor Who, but then I remember the last two seasons of BSG.
I had an idea for ST 2.75. How about 10 stories, each with the same name as the actual ep title, but /who/res come up with their own plots?* So the first one will be called "The Woman Who Fell To Earth", but besides being the 'series opener', can have any plot. The third would be "Rosa", but couldn't be about the exact plot, though you could still incorporate Rosa Parks, or even Krasko.
All that would be required is–the first ep is a series opener, and the last is a series finale. Besides that, there would be no rules about continuty, you could even kill off companions in 1 story that show up in the next story, though if y'all want to organize a continuity that works too.
The companions one could use is Yaz, Ryan, Graham…and Grace. Depends on whether she still dies in our opener.
You can incorporate what you want from the basic concepts of the actual series 11 eps, but I'd prefer creativity and new twists.
*Except for Ep 5, which can be titled "A Man In Labour."
Also, I forgot to mention, using the tropes of "clueless privileged bloke" as a metaphor for the Doctor's more toxic qualities allows Moffat to use some of his comedy skills.
Always thought it was disappointing that The Ghost Monument was just the TARDIS. Instead of a monument made out of ghosts, or a landmark that only exists in certain times.
So is The Good Doctor any good or has Chibnall's reach cursed Thirteen so thoroughly she can't even get a good story when he's not involved?
I think you should give it a better name related to series 11, Chibnall or Jodie. Even if it’s as simple as ST11
>or a landmark that only exists in certain times.
But wait, it was a landmark that phased out of existence at certain times. So that's why it had that name.
The Good Doctor's supposed to be good. I'm sure Una's book will be better.
Shit Trips: File 13?
And how about we have twelve stories–the 10 S11 ep-named stories, and also a version of "Twice Upon A Time", and a "Christmas/New Years' special" story.
Sounds alright to me
Shit Trips: Nightmare Before Kino
That title might work, actually.
I feel this might be a good alternative to the ST3 anthology? Twelve stories isn't too big, but is still enough for /who/ writers to have some creative leeway (and if we need more slots, we can add entries for "Combat Magicks", "Warmonger", and other titles for 13's EU.) We can have ST3 the next time around.
What if I want to make a shitpost trip unrelated to an episode?
Hmm…maybe "side-stories"? Or "interludes"? Could work to break things up.
And remember, the actual story doesn't have to connect to the S11 ep–just the title. You could have "Arachnids In The UK" be about 13 and Yaz visiting a lesbo bar called "Arachnids", or "Tsuranga Conundrum" be about 13 and Ryan meeting an alien fisherman called Tsuranga who is lost.
What constraints would we have other than 13/Ryan/Yaz/Graham/Grace/Names?
the doctor has to do the arm thing with the sonic every single time
every story must make mention of graham and ryans dynamic
yaz cant do anything
jodie must allude to being preggers in every story
None, really. I'd prefer to avoid simple "13's a woman!" jokes–it's literally lazier than Chibs' jokes. Come up with creative takes on the companions–they're broadly sketched out, so give them a little more depth. Or just shitpost, if you want.
Avoid copying the S11 eps. You can use elements, but it should be its own thing.
For now, no word limit, although 100+page stories are not allowed.
None of those except:
>the doctor has to do the arm thing with the sonic every single time
Yes, the arm thing is essential.
But the aim is to sort of make up for S11's faults. Especially adding more depth to Yaz, and strengthening the group dynamic; maybe having 13 meet some side characters of previous eras.
It's more the way it gets wielded as a weapon to attack anything remotely masculine, or just things men happen to do like sitting differently because their bodies are shaped that way, and the lack of balance when it comes to the acceptability of criticising negative female traits like nagging or manipulativeness or a general lack of any sense of standards or accountability.
Is this from the real comics?
Yes, anon. The BBC approved of a comic where the Doctor beats his companion.
Also, I'd like us to keep Thirteen's canon traits–empathetic, honestly apologetic, likes to emphasize teamwork, isn't very speechy. Of course, if a /who/re prefers to do something different, or sees 13 differently, go ahead.
NO MORE FUCKING SHIT TRIPS JFC
clara haters arent sexist, they say. it's all about the writing, they say
Anon, why? This anthology is focused, has less entries, and is themed with something that /who/ might like working on–showing that they are better writers than Chibs.
actually MOFFET is the sexist! he writes all his females like bitchy cunt bossy tell the doctor what to do entitled mary sue overconfident sluts! (not sexism)
To be honest, I've seen good criticism that Clara slapping 12 was normalizing abusive behaviour, and the fact that it was a woman striking a man didn't make it right.
Because creating anthology after anthology with such small breaks inbetween saps /who/ of its creative energy and leads to diminishing returns with each one.
Which is why we've made this a smaller anthology. Sort of a breather.
And it was other /who/res who first thought of this idea. I think it's an ok thing.
> saps /who/ of its creative energy and leads to diminishing returns with each one.
Actually, part of the issue is that /who/ had too much creativity–700 pages worth! And the stories were still creative, just a bit unwieldy for readers.
A set of 12 stories centered around Thirteen and her crew, plus some shitposty shorts, shouldn't have those issues.
>ywn see a new 12th Doctor episode
unironically extremely well said, Immigrant
>because they interpret it as "masculinity is inherently toxic" rather than "there are aspects of masculine culture that have negative consequences"
YES. I'm glad someone else gets it. People don't realize that when they talk about men having to hide their emotions, suck it up, "be a man", that's what "toxic masculinity" is referring to. It's not "men bad"
remember when David Yates was going to direct a Doctor Who film that ignored the continuity of the show and Moffat was just like "absolutely fucking not" and so Yates fucked off and made Newt Scamander into the Eleventh Doctor without any of the gravitas or depth
>unironically extremely well said, Immigrant
>YES. I'm glad someone else gets it. People don't realize that when they talk about men having to hide their emotions, suck it up, "be a man", that's what "toxic masculinity" is referring to. It's not "men bad"
Yep. I'm sure it gets used as "men bad" in some places, but that's not what it means.
>I feel this might be a good alternative to the ST3 anthology?
Nah, I got some shit trips already banked. Coast it down, make it a special anthology, keep the whole numbers for us to just do whatever.
>People don't realize that when they talk about men having to hide their emotions, suck it up, "be a man", that's what "toxic masculinity" is referring to. It's not "men bad"
agreed, but "men bad" is still based and redpilled
Is that why you chose not to have anything to say in /who/ cares?
Alright. So, who should showrun Shit Trips The 13th?
I mean "be the editor."
no, /who/ cares is a sausage fest, the swathes of time where i'm being silent are just taken up by other men
I'd like to be "taken up" by other men, if you know what I mean.
Pretty tasteless of you to assume gig's and mirror's genders there, cats, thought you were more woke than that
>not putting the brigadier in that image
lol epic did you just assume my gender

To me the concept of "toxic masculinity" feel like someone adding an acid and a base together and then blaming the mess caused by the chemical reaction entirely on the acid. Masculinity didn't seem to be "toxic" until people started trying to change or suppress it.
Things like "men shouldn't cry" and the resulting lack of emotional outlets for men have been around for a long time and have never been a good thing
LOL you fucking MRA stemlord what kind of simile is this
>using stem as an insult
men have always had emotional outlets, they just didn't look like women's emotional outlets, so short sighted women, who can't imagine things from outside their point of view simply assumed they must not exist, forcing more feminine emotional outlets onto boys even if to mean pumping them full of fucking drugs, while at the same time inadvertently condemning actual male emotional outlets.
Cats, woah. Take it down a notch.
What male emotional outlets are you referring to?
>cats on the podcast
At least I can skip this one

Wow that is uncalled for.
Doctor Who is a sci-fi show. It's a show that opens up your mind to escape the harshness of reality. So when I watch Doctor Who, I don't want to watch some political correctness crap, I want to enjoy the show and watch the Doctor explore the world of sci-fi.

You probably remember images most vividly.
One of Doctor Who's first serials involved the characters landing in 15th century Mexico, and Barbara attempting to change the culture of the Aztecs by stopping the practice of human sacrifice. She believes will save them from ultimately being driven to extinction by the Spaniards.
But by all means, keep telling me about how political historicals are a new idea being wrongly imposed on the show.
Yeah, I constantly have to look up what happened in previous parts.
That probably would have limited the degrees to which the Spaniards were able to b them tfo, since other native peoples were more than happy to ally with the Spaniards against them, due to that shit.

The Aztecs were fucked, mang.
And in the end her plan didn't work because changing a society doesnt work like that. The Aztecs was far more nuanced and intersting a serial than the current shit.

apparently Talalay directed chapter 6 of the new sabrina, anyone seen it yet?
hi /who/. I have prepared a joke about a /who/re. May I share it?
Gomez and Talalay? KINO KINO KINO KINO. It's gotta be.
You're all wrong about the Series 9 structure. It's made up of three straight "two-parters" and three "rhyming couplet" episodes. I'll leave you to guess which is which.
Magician/Witch, Lake/Flood, Invasion/Inversion - Two-Parters
Girl/Woman, Sleep/Raven, Heaven Hell - Rhyming couplets
I don't mind historicals with some social commentary, it's just that Chibnall picked the absolute safest thing to do. It's a narrative everyone knows and has agreed upon and it's sanctimonious to boot. If Chibnall wants to do "smarter" historicals, he's gonna have to do much much better.
can't act and is a better female doctor with just that picture
Rosa it is a fixed point in PC-History
everyone knows she was a communist trying to get famous
Judy, don't you get all of your historical information from right-wing youtubers?
off course, msm are liars
just watched the first episode of Jekyll, pretty fucking good.
Great work guys! I'm gonna stick it on the stream in a few minutes to listen for the first time!
Capaldi had the second best final episode of a nuwho doctor
his last episode was TDF, so he has best episode
TUAT was special and does not count
"Special" is an adjective, not a noun. "Special" with regards to a broadcast story is a shortened form of "Special Episode" - which means that Special is a subtype of Episode, and the two concepts are not mutually exclusive.
Time is too far deep into schlock, it just knows how to tug at your heartstrings so you don't notice
Rank best last classics by doc
TUaT is too far deep into schlock and it doesn't know how to tug at your heart strings.
As in last stories?
What about TUAT is schlock? It's mostly just travelling to a couple locations and reflecting on things
they all shite
>Time is too far deep into schlock
The schlock is what makes Time so good. The scene where the Doctor literally nukes the Daleks with his regeneration beams is absolutely wonderful.
> The scene where the Doctor literally nukes the Daleks with his regeneration beams is absolutely
The War Games > Survival > Night of the Doctor > Parting of the Ways > The Time of the Doctor > The Tenth Planet > Caves of Androzani > Twice Upon A Time > Logopolis > The Ultimate Foe > Planet of the Spiders > The End of Time Part 2
Rank all the stories that contains "THE" and "OF" in the title
I've got places to be. If anyone's gonna do it at all I'll do it later, maybe
The End of Time > Everything
Doctor Who IS pure fanwank.
Based, I'm glad someone's watching it
Does that mean good? If so I'm agree
For reference; what Chibnall said about the creation of the Pting, and the credit in the episode.
Wouldn't it have been easier to just put some text on screen at the end of TUaT saying "the new Doctor continued to have adventures just like her predecessors" instead of actually making Series 11?
What's my favourite episode?
Chib's quote doesn't make it clear if Tim Price came up with the entire alien concept or just the name, and then the others came up with the monster based on his name idea
>Planet of the Spiders that low
The War Games > Bad Wolf / The Parting of the Ways > The Caves of Androzani > The Time of the Doctor > The Tenth Planet > The Night of the Doctor > The End of Time > Survival > Planet of the Spiders > Logopolis > Twice Upon a Time > The Ultimate Foe
I'm doing a bit but >>141260 is an damn canny guess. Not my precise number one though.
Chib does say the alien was "created and named by Tim" so I'm going to take his word for it.
PoS is good but process of ranking dictates that some good stories come lower
no episode 3 o jekyll is madness
Moffat was on drugs
he removed the thriller and added secret socities and meta existence
and it does not end properly because he was basking for a renewal
Your reasoning is sound and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter.
TIM PRICE = PRICE TIM
PT + ING
3 is the one with him and Claire locked up with Sime in his basement. Are you sure you're not confused?
I agree about the cliffhanger not being resolved, I wish we could see where he'd have taken it. Big Finish box set when?
I'm talking about the last one
>Moffat was on drugs
And doesn't that kino you to death? (See also Series 6 opener)
Oh right. Yeah it's the weakest episode but I applaud its insanity and Hyde's last stand in the corridor is fucking kino deluxe, and very much a preview of the kind of emotion Moff would evoke in The Doctor Falls
Why is it not my favourite episode of Doctor Who ever? Big question, it's the worst episode (story) of Series 9 for a start.
is this an insult?
neo likes tits, so no
As opposed to other kinds of matter, which… pop up out of thin air?
you cannot generate matter
You can generate matter from energy with a particle accelerator, like you generate antimatter.
begin private key
yfw the word DESIGNATED is said in next episode
this is how I picture Nilso

I am currently in the same continent as you.
just something to get public funding and generating nothing
nilsos getting public funding
