The labour movement died when people stopped singing together. If the revolution happened today, how many of you and your coworkers could sing The Internationale? Or any other labour song? And these are old ass songs, with no new songs about the struggle being written that could be sang during strikes, occupations and insurrections.

I can't really sing per say, I can do deathgrowls/black metal screeches though.

Unironically, you may be onto something. Singing is easier to get past stage fright with than chanting, and not enough people singing is generally less-pathetic than not enough people chanting. Part of it I think is the rise of radio and recorded music raising the bar for what people percieve as 'good,' also fewer people per capita sing hymns in groups so there's that. Not using that as an argument for why those should be changed back necessarily, just noting emergent technology's influence on sociopolitical shit.

>>137614

Doesn't matter, as long as you've got volume and heart in it. Virtuosity isn't what you're going for.

>>137629

Fun, but would eff up throats too early to be effectual in the long-term. Also tougher to understand.

The labour movement died cuz tankies

 No.137762

>>137759

No, it died, because reformists kept supporting liberals.

>reformists kept supporting liberals.

Wasn't that the strategy of the cominterm from around the late 20's till after WW2?

That's retarded, I find Marcyites annoying as anyone but you can't blame them for everything.

I don't understand this post, you start with "no" but then you actually agree with the other post?

 No.137802

>>137800

Calling tankies liberals is retarded and amounts to nothing more than using "liberal" to mean "stuff I don't like."

 No.137803

>>137802

Tankies are reformists who can't help but "compromise" with liberals.

 No.137831

Moving away from any form of social conservatism at all costs in pursuit of individualist bourgeois hedonism and other Jewish bullshit is what killed the labor movement. It became assimilated into the machine and commodified. Now to most communists having the freedom to catch STDs and inject yourself with estrogen are regarded as the great class-struggles of our time

Unions used to be a lot more than just collective bargaining and support in legal disputes. After work the proletariat went to the union's building where they attended classes, played and listened to music, acted out and watched theatrical plays, discussed and played cards. They had sports clubs and tournaments, even international ones, they went hiking, they wrote for their own newspapers and literary and political journals, they sang together.

Now in our era where the individual is more isolated then ever, maybe it is time to bring back the secondary functions of the unions?

this is very good for several reasons:

1) it is the mythmaking capacity that is used to summon powerful hidden forces of change: look at kek. specifically look at kek in the first 'chapter' of finnegans wake (for the uninitiated, it's largely about the central dying-ressurecting figure of myth). every time war brews and some new viking or gaul tries to invade ireland, the frogs start croaking. in our case the frogposters start tweeting.

but this is hugely underestimated capacity of 'meme magic'

2) singing (ie creativity) is the solution to violence. when some authority figure is aping out to try to get you to acknowledge that they're top dog and you're a little piece of shit: it seems like some complex thing but it's really what every mammal with a vertebrate has done to control space for !thousands of millions of years! it's a proven strategy and even otherwise rational people will revert to it when they're challenged. the methods of the neocortex (nonviolence, all-oneness, creativity) are so new that their expressions are challenged, mispercieved or just unseen, repressed. it happens in every age.

combined, singing along with creative storytelling is more powerful than any psyop, so go be bards

I like this idea. There is hardly any basis for social interaction anymore. Besides most people seem to just hang out with people they know from work anyway.
