Recently fully watched the 45 minute gameplay trailer of this game just to see if /v/ was being too harsh on it. Halfway through I had this sense of Déjà vu like I've played this game before and it me that It's pretty much Deus Ex HR. Have I become too fucking cynical /v/ or am I on to something?
And whats your point anon?
Is cynicism meaning that you're seeing the same game over and over on different games?
Watched it and it looked alright. I guess I'll get around to play it in order to judge fully. It still looks overhyped though.
I was asking am I being too cynical over that I can barely tell the difference between it and Deus Ex Hr?
The only thing I don't like about it and it's a heavy downside for me is The Voiced Protagonist
I've gotten over the No Third Person thing it's not just Immersion they said that it's Gameplay and level design thing (can't do cramped interiors with third person the camera will get stuck)
Action RPGs are my favorite genre I was hoping this would be one to top New Vegas but the Voiced Protag lowers the bar.
>asking /v/ if you're too cynical
what next asking the suicidal for reasons to live
Theyre afraid to release a game with no voiced protag thinking it will deter normalfags, but either way most retards will just rush trough the dialogue anyway no matter what the faggot devs will implement.
Exactly. The sequences in the gameplay were scripted, if they aren't, they'll be repetitive.
I don't understand this, it's much more faster to read things for yourself and skip the spoken dialog. All it serves is to waste time and sink money on VAs or some celebrity attention whoring so the game gets more PR.
Voice acting in games was a huge mistake.
Like I said it's not really an issue for me I understand the lack of it is to tighten up the Gameplay
Because New Vegas had it.
Sometimes I just want to see my character in bad ass gear trekking across the map
The cool looking gear ads to the sense of progression and accomplishment for me
This hurts to read Voicless Protags have done well with Normalfags for at least a decade
even the Bethesdrones hated 4's Voiced Protag but Marketing retardation being what it is….
Oh they were definitely scripted we don't even have a release date yet
but one of the areas was a dungeon and we saw environmental damage (bullets breaking things) at the very least I don't think they can/will back down from bullets going through things they advertised it too prominently
>at the very least I don't think they can/will back down from bullets going through things they advertised it too prominently
All of this is because of the open world meme. It still lingers and the attention to detail drops like a motherfucker.
Botw had some great world interaction but it was dead and empty that it hurt to look at. With NuHitman I'm hoping that normalfags will realize that small/medium concentrated levels with details and several routes to be worked on are the best.
You weren't the only one who saw the similarities. I hope they show something new soon because I feel ambivalent to what I saw before. If you were playing a hooker bot with blades then it would be a little different but they went with the usual stock gameplay with minor tweaks here and there to make it look different. Still a bit interested but waiting for something to truly wow me.
front-wheel drive was a mistake
I didnt think of it that way, I guess they could just implement a mode where you can see in 3rd person during idle or walking. You should kill thyself if you wanted 3rd person gameplay though.
Well at least we'll have mirrors/reflections
though nothing will beat walking around the wasteland in Klamath Bounty Hunter Armor
No it’s pretty much HR, that said I liked HR so I’m okay with that.
Wtf, there is no multiplayer, I'm refunding
I was going to mock that as bait but then I remembered that there was talk that it was/is going to have online multiplayer in some way so who knows
HR had a decent voiced protag, too. Elias Toufexis is a good boy and I wish him the best.
>wanting multiplayer even if they promised it
Now thats something I hope they lied about.
I just played HR from start to finish in one sitting and it sucks.
Super clunky and trash gameplay.
Mankind divided is an amazing gem, shame they only made half of it.
decent yes but you'll never get the levels of RPG mastery that was the Atris scene in Kotor 2 or the Companion interactions in DAO with a voiced protag
It didn't look particularly bad but it didn't look particularly good either and all the hype feels for naught.
Honestly I'm hyped for it because Action RPGs are my favorite genre and CDPR haven't let me down
It's the game I'm looking forward to the most with Outer Worlds being second for that alone
It's not a bad thing since HR was an alright game it's more it's something I've already played and it's not trying anything new.
I don't know. Gameplay wise I hated both Witcher games I played(1 and 2).
It's CDPR; mechanically, I don't think they've ever done anything new.
You could have tried something more subtle you know?
I know the writers are shit and it's probably doomed but aside from Doom Eternal what else worthwhile is coming out?
there's a chance that Avellone won't let it become complete shit
can't wait for more epic doot goy glory
holes kills that glory shower you with glory healthpacks and ammo.
The criticism you see is a mix between genuine curiosity as to why certain things are they appear to be in the trailer and the majority of the criticism are industry shills who have stakes in the cyberpunk genre.
Avellone left Obsidian.
Because I played Witcher 3 and the combat sucked so I dropped it. The MC and sidekick are pretty degenerate but ignoring that since you can't maybe make choices yourself to be less degenerate, the gun play didn't seem that hard. It's more retarded enemy AI and this alone is holding back gaming imo. It might be good if there's tons of customization and exploration (despite not being able to fly). I just hope it's not empty like GTA V.
Health packs are dropped separately based on your health, the health glory kills give you is separate but it isn't remotely sufficient for glory killing to be a good tactic on higher difficulties.
please post the updated version instead
>first person anything
just admit you were getting destroyed by some monsters in spots that were too high level and you couldnt wait to get to them later and wanted instead instant gratification
also you were getting annoyed by some enemies who have buffs and resistances all over the place and require preparation to deal with it
you can admit, you dont want to learn this game really
How about you admit you're a slavnigger shill? TW3 was a garbage game from the world, most of the quests to the combat. Even now people seriously defend the game when it's an ubisoft tier open world collecathon. There's no benefit to exploring since all the loot is trash except for mandatory upgrades. So what that leaves you doing is clearing out the hundreds of little blips on the map or using a guide. Shit ass game design why wouldn't I use a guide after you discover nearly all the loot is worthless shit? I understand that TW3 may seem like a complicated game with a high learning curve to your typical slav nigger brain, but it's not the case, Vladislav.
All of those are extreme exaggerations and it has some of the best quest I've seen in a long time if not ever.
>Have I become too fucking cynical /v/ or am I on to something?
t. le jaded teen gamr
Do you even listen to yourself, faggot? You better be some creative marketer shill, looking for the best way to present a game on imageboards. Because you sound insufferable.
He might as well be Zimbabwen he is still staring in American.
I was expecting a game similar to Deus Ex and what a surprise, we're getting a game similar to Deus Ex. A few games like DE, EYE and even stuff like Fallout, Dishonored etc. have all done things that Cyberpunk 2077 would do. No way they could have done something new. I'm a little disappointed that the game will play more like a Fallout with some added fluff like hacking instead of lockpicking and vice versa, but then again its my fault for imagining a game that would do more. I kept envisioning being able to play a Netrunner and never leave my apartment, just do every mission through the 'Net.
It looks good but it will definitely be compared to a bunch of other games because it ultimately is like a bunch of other games. Voiced protag is a turn off but not a huge one as a game like Deus Ex makes it work opposed to a game like Fallout. As long as there is a bunch of weapons, augmentations, classes and choices, enough for a few playthroughs at least, I will be happy.
Because everyone can be american.
double checked I guess I thought he was in it because he worked with Tim Cain in 2 but the game still has Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarsky working on it aside from Fallout 1 they both have VTM:B under their belt so my point still stands
>that leaves you doing is clearing out the hundreds of little blips on the map
Are you retarded? Did you also run around giving every tree a name, zodiac sign and backstory?
Why can't we have both?
>People shit post endlessly about how the game is too bright and colorful
>Anon shitposts about how it's too dull and drab
>Based off the same trailer
Never change /v/ never change
I just want a game that has serious consequences on certain actions. If you say "fuck you" to somebody in the game, that should result in getting a bullet through your head. Also those smart weapons they showed in that gameplay demo are just retarded. Bullets cannot "track" anyone, they travel in straight path and thats it. Also if there is any of that bullshit where you can just walk into people's apartments and loot them for items, then this certainly ain't rpg.
>strong color variety
>Complaining that a Cyberpunk game is not colourful enough.
>Compares it to Mirror's Edge a game that is way to bright and mostly one shade of pure white.
I have no words and I must shitpost.
The voice acting is terrible, reminds me of the Division play through trailer. Having someone confidently tell you what to do is absolute pandering to the weakest gamers out there, leftists.
Weapon hands, Body Plates
here's all the categories from the source materiel obviously not everything's going to make it in
Yes, they aren't doing much that hasn't been done before.
To me the one thing they have to nail to set them apart from others is choice.
Actual meaningful choice.
Things that incentivize replaying the game.
And yet they didn't fucking show any choice permutation.
Not once, not a single god damn time.
They simply said that choice existed.
They implied there is choice.
Until I see that I will treat them as fucking liars just like every other grabbag of dickholes that has choice as a bullet point of their game.
The demo reel made it look like they're marketing to the general slack-jawed shooter loving chuckle fucks of the world and it is hard to think otherwise at this point.
All they needed to do was show a little snippet of them inspecting the cred chip like they showed you can do and having the vector removed.
From there comes an actual non-violent path of buying the bot and walking out the front door OR walking out the backdoor after the firefight with an extra 50K eddies in your pocket which is one of the outcomes they even said was possible.
From there you jumpcut to dialog of the corpo agent chewing you out for not getting her mole.
Then the really special thing is the dialog option that showed up for 1 second that said "Cred's yours with some additional info" during the mexican standoff.
Show that, then V and Jackie walking out with the bot AND the name of the mole the corpo agent wanted.
You do that and avoid listening to gunfire and screams for the next 10 minutes while making everybody happy.
Instead the choice they made was to show nothing that really matters.
They showed bullet time, a gun that ricochets, a gun that penetrates walls, a gun with autoaim, arm blades, hacking, engineering etc.
I'd have taken them just showing what would happen if you actually tried to take the gun out of the hand of the corpo bodyguard.
Ideally he shoots you in the face and you die for being an idiot.
That is the choice I want, I want stupid people shot.
Worst case scenario is that it leads to you just getting wounded while interrogated and everything goes down exactly the same stupid way in the long run.
Actual choice is the one and only thing that separates it from something I'll buy and a slightly better version of Nu-Deus Ex.
I also really liked HR and Jensen, the thing is that those games were thought with a character in mind from the start Same with the witcher games, where a voiced PC works because we're playing a pre established character, you can roleplay a bit but that was never really the point, on the other hand 2077 is being marketed as a real RPG where you're supposed to create your character it obviously won't be as deep as the tabletop but it should be certainly deeper than HR or the Witcher games something that goes against having a voiced protagonist.
I'd like if there were several voices just to give flavour to the character, but most of the dialog you'd have to read, so you can have your character sounding like you want him to sound but they don't have to waste tons of money and time on recordings.
The voiced protag disappoints me but it isn't a deal breaker in any way, for me at least i'm probably gonna play the default male anyway
>It was even more clunky, Janky and with shittier mechanics than HR.
What? how? i understand not liking MD if you didn't like HR to begin with, but MD is definitely an improvment, as the other guy said the shame is the writing and that it's half finished.
The fact that it ended in a shootout doesn't mean there's a lack of choice in the sense that you can't take things at face value in the game just like in real life, but it is true that they should've showed the differences if there were any. You have to remember that was a demostration, they'd want to show the combat in the game, so first they show you some peaceful interactions and dialog and then they show you how to deal with a compound full of enemies with some stealth and some combat. At the end of the day what people want to see are the flashy guns more than the RPG part, which is a shame but it is what it is
>I just want a game that has serious consequences on certain actions
The witcher games were pretty decent at that, not from one game to the next but within each game, i have confidence in CDPR's writing team in that regard.
I have no words
I think a good compromise would be something like Morrowind, Have only the most important characters voiced and make everything else text.
It won't. Yurofags don't make RPGs. They make cinematic and on rails experiences.
What's wrong with what at first seems like a non-violent path ending with a shootout? I far prefer that kind of gameplay than the standard click blue option for goody two shoes path that saves everyone on earth and no animals are hurt, pick red option to rape an unborn baby during the quest not because it'll help but because you're just that evil. Very few modern (or even old) RPGs do that, I doubt Cyberpunk 2077 will but if they do I'll appreciate it so long as they don't massively fuck up both gameplay and story.
Because morbid obesity was first classified and became epidemic in the USA. Fat people existed all around the world and through history, obviously: but it is unprecedented how enormous and sick you people managed to become. Which makes it hard to consider americans fully human anymore.
Like and upvote this comment, if you think your favorite Visual Novel will be better than Cyberpunk 2077.
not to mention how is drastically kill any rpg theme.
VA force the dev to drastically reduce the choices and outcome.
Maybe that's why in the dragon age series: only the 1st one have an rpg theme.

You are completely right!!
It's not like the trailer is like a year old and every 10 minutes of the gameplay mod told us that this is just a fucking beta version and not a final game
>creative marketer shill
Yes I'm clearly shilling a game I'm negative to.
I have no comment regarding the image you're replying to, but what sort of absolute moron would believe the "i-i-it's just a beta" excuse these days? If a company representative calls what he's showing off a beta, it means that the content you see is essentially finished and only minor changes (often detrimental ones, at that) will happen. It's been this way for well over a decade. Not only that, based on The Witcher 2 and 3 we know that these devs can't be trusted when they make claims about their games pre release.
>"y-you're just pretending
>people comment like the game is already released and they all have 10+h into the game, the thread.
love these, all meaningless speculations spat out in various edgy and vulgar ways by so confident and full of themselves 4chin immigrants.

>Bullets cannot "track" anyone, they travel in straight path and thats it
Imagine being this wrong.
The visual design is going to be the one thing that definitely won't change much. If you were talking about the hacking system, then you might have a point.
Graphic fidelity is something very much subject to change and you know it. Plus there was even in a point in the video with hacking that the commentator said it is very much subject to change. And you very much know that game development is fucked everywhere and games may even change drastically for some reason.
>for some reason
What they already had supposedly ran at 4k on a single GTX 1080. Hopefully they don't need to do a W3-style downgrade this time (but I wouldn't be surprised).
Its not some visual marvel though. Witcher 3 in the previews looked extremely sharp with a shitload of detail but from the gameplay footage this doesnt look that impressive. I wouldnt be surprised if they cut a bit on the visual elements but I'm not expecting anything as drastic and W3. even so w3 still looks great even with the downgrade
What I'm interested in is that they shilled for some supposed cool new animation system and I'm way more autistic about that then graphics.
>Graphic fidelity is something very much subject to change
Yeah, and if you had paid any attention whatsoever during the last decade, you would "very much" know that such changes are always for the worse, either to make the game run on consoles or because the footage they showed didn't exist as a game in the first place.
Agreed, I like visual spectacle but there's a point of diminishing returns where I don't care much.
Animation, on the other hand, could still use a lot of work in modern vida.
>Animation, on the other hand, could still use a lot of work in modern vida.
Good lord some of the animations lately have been stiff as a board.
Guess its my fault for trying to make a point over something similar but not the same. Yeah you're right. But that image is still retarded and might as well be outrage marketing or counter shilling by bethesda or something, whatever the case its pure faggotry and its shits up the discussion.
I don't think anybody disagrees with the image being retarded.
>Imagine being this wrong.
He isn't though. The only tracking you can incorporate into a regular round is a slight aim assist, which, moving at the speeds a bullet does, will only make any difference 1) over very great distances, like sniping, such as your video or 2) if your aim is only very slightly off target.
Magical bullets that home in and strike targets from standard assault rifle engagement ranges are just retarded if it's anything other than a slight trajectory correction. There shouldn't be any rounds making lateral arcs or turning corners, the only thing that's gonna do that are self propelled munitions that travel a lot slower than bullets.
>There shouldn't be any rounds making lateral arcs or turning corners
>Some Americans are fat, therefore they all are.
So is it safe to assume that because there are some muslims in Europe, all Europeans are muslim?
What did they say about the animations?
I don't believe it, post the study, I want to see their sampling groups.
hoping it was just because it was a demo but did the dialogue seem really railroadey to anyone else? Like, JRPG "say yes or OK" tier at some points.
Fallout 1/2 had a very happy medium to me on this issue. They weren't afraid to add tons of characters without voiced dialogue, but for all the most interesting and important ones they had fully animated talking heads. That way, assuming you have talented animators and VAs, you get to add something extra to the game without limiting yourself.
I believe it. It's not a measure of obesity, which is what comes to mind when you think of fat people. It's measuring the number who are merely overweight. And you can look decent-ish even when you're overweight, though most look like shit.
I got that impression too, though if I remember right, it was more for generic stuff anyway. That's the problem with voice protags and dialogue choices, you can't really win. I'm sure the protag speaks without input at all and some are just there to give the illusion of choice.
Haha right but only if it fires balls, basically.
I think there was some israeli jew who tried marketing a working prototype of a gun + mirror system that worked on a hinge or something, that allowed you to look around corners and shoot without exposing yourself. Dunno what became of that if anything, I'd assume that it'd be so inaccurate you might as well just stick your dome out for target acquisition after laying down suppressing fire.
> It's measuring the number who are merely overweight
And the metric by which they measure overweight is pretty ridiculous. I'm a super skinny guy, I've always had problems maintaining mass (eating junk food isn't a solution), and even I could hit "overweight" if I lifted weights and pushed myself up to 195 lbs at over 6 feet tall. It's a completely retarded measurement, especially if it's based on BMI, but I'd really need to see the methodology of the study. You could have physically fit people measuring in at "overweight" even if it's simply muscle mass.
>Everyone gets classified as overweight with the (((BMI)))
>Oy vey, weight and obesity is a big issue, we better tax the companies to give less sugar so you can all get healthy
>Companies proceed to give you less food yet you pay more
Truly a mystery
BMI is supposed to be accurate for a person with an "average" build. It's only a guideline. Fat percentage is the only really relevant measurement. You can actually have a fairly low BMI because you have 0 muscle mass but still have quite a lot of fat and be very unhealthy.
dont understand how much color contrast someone would want inside a fucking car
I only watched one gameplay video of Outer Worlds. Why does /v/ hate it?
as someone who pirated and played through NuDoot several times, that screencap is absolutely riddled with factually incorrect or just outright dishonest statements. Some stuff is right, but without reading the entire thing top to bottom, a brief scan makes it look like maybe 50-70% of it is actually correct.
SJW's writing are it
Bad writing. Dialogue trees where you're forced to say one thing.
Visually both so colorful it's hard to look at and uninteresting.
Phobia system that gives you (optional) debuffs for fighting the same monster type more than once.
Enemies stand around waiting to be shot.
It might be okay in spite of these. That one gameplay video is the only gameplay they've shown.
I liked the voice protag in Deus Ex because it felt like a "blank slate". You could interpret it the tone in any way and it'll still make sense.
Cyberpunk's voiced protag had a single distinct tone per scenario.
Like a broken record.
Voiced MC can work but it needs actual effort from both the writing team and VA. Something that is rare.
>CDPR haven't let me down
Bait or not. This is anon is absolutely right and everyone who disagreed is a dumbass. That muddy color palette just spells uninspired and low effort.
Sometimes miracles happen.
>Phobia system that gives you (optional) debuffs for fighting the same monster type more than once.
Shouldn't a phobia be given when you get your ass handed to them?
Nvm, as I typed it out, they're using "phobia = I dislike thing for a valid reason" like islamophobia or homophobia.
Yeah, they should have copied Blade Runner 2049 tbh instead of redoing the old Blade Runner/Akira thing.
But the trailer I saw once was full of color and daylight.
FPS with American social commentary from Poles as seen through a tabletop roleplaying lens created by an American nigger. Truly groundbreaking times.
Go back to cuckchan. STAT
C77 is going to be an amazing game provided the devs have never failed to deliver before but i guess leftycucks like you dont even play games and you just spread blackpills kek fuck off cuckchanner

I really wish cyberpunk would have the punk aesthetic brought back in, instead of good-but-inadequate synthwave bullshittery.
>Voiced MC can work
sure anything "can work" but that's different than the shear amount of potential Voiceless has. You can't have the great moments of dialogue conversation without a Dialogue Tree at least

At bullet speeds - yes. But at hundreds km/h which are fast enough for "you can't outrun only blink before death" is possible. There are RC planes that can "run circles around man" at blazing speeds. Bullet size rc aircrafts (smart bullet) theoretically can do to tighter turns because square–cube law.
If a bullet is traveling at 1,700 mph in one direction, to steer 45 degrees it would have to have a hell of a lot of delta-v inside it to change course, which would have to be burned in the right direction too. That requires a gimballed thruster, or at least stabilizer wings/fins. Obviously, we're talking a missile at this point, not a bullet. Now, if you want that 45° change at 1,700 mph to happen in less than a kilometer, you need absolute magic, or a bullet that fires another bullet inside it at an angle.

>it would have to have a hell of a lot of delta-v inside it to change course
The bullets don't seem to go that fast looking at the video, and they curve maybe 30 degrees over 1/3-1/2 of a second. I would need to know the weight of the bullet to be sure of this, but let's say it uses a small shaped charge instead of a lead bullet; we could have a very low-mass, low velocity projectile. With the right secondary propulsion mechanism working in conjunction with fins and possibly a vibrating mechanism to take advantage of boundary layer frequencies, it seems quite possible to have the bullets follow this path although it would be FUCKING EXPENSIVE.
>we're talking a missile at this point, not a bullet
Visually it looks like they may be using a rocket-styled engine, as there is a smoke trail being left behind.
We're talking magical levels of technology miniaturized to even more magical levels. It's difficult to believe such a civilization would even fight with rifle-looking weapons.
Always assume everything is bad until proven otherwise.
You'd just end killing yourself because why would anyone prove anything to you?
>Honestly I'm hyped
Hype is a metal disease. You should never be "hyped" for any game released any more. It's all lies sold to you so you spend money without thinking like a retarded consumer zombie. Always wait until after release before you try to form any positive opinion about a product.
I mean by actually playing things yourself.
Assume everything is bad until you demo pirate.
>Shouldn't a phobia be given when you get your ass handed to them?
That would make sense, but it's not what they show in the gameplay video.
>phobia = I dislike thing
No, it's clearly meant to be a fear. It says it gives stat penalties when they're attacking you.
> although it would be FUCKING EXPENSIVE.
We have chips made of millions parts that cost couple dollars. Lithography everything its digital age ffs.
>We have chips made of millions parts that cost couple dollars.
Because billions of those are sold. Without scale we wouldn't have cheap chips, a fab is a couple billion to build.
I don't think it's going to be ground breaking but I also don't think it's going to be entirely bad either.
It's pretty obviously playing on HR yes. That'd just make it a 6/10 game instead of shit.
>comparing some empty world roof jumping game to a futuristic GTA
I always assume things are bad even after it's been proven otherwise.
>>can't describe what cyberpunk actually is
Definition of cyberpunk (cy·(U+200B was here)ber·(U+200B was here)punk)
1 : science fiction dealing with future urban societies dominated by computer technology
In science fiction circles, "cyberpunk" is a genre that often features countercultural antiheroes trapped in a dehumanizing high-tech future. Its roots extend back to the technical fiction of the 1940s and '50s, but it was years before it matured. The word cyberpunk was coined by writer Bruce Bethke, who wrote a story with that title in 1980. He created the term by combining "cybernetics," the science of replacing human functions with computerized ones, and "punk," the raucous music and nihilistic sensibility that became a youth culture in the 1970s and '80s. Not until the 1984 publication of William Gibson's novel, Neuromancer, however, did "cyberpunk" really take off as a term or a genre.

I'm aware of what Cyberpunk is anon, but what I'm saying it 2077 just seems like HR.
Oh I'm an ass my bad. Yeah it feels that way doesn't it?
you can, it will just expensive as fuck having all those lines voiced, all the while you only hear maybe half of it - which means wasted resources for the suits. once we get to the point a voice synthesizer doesn't sound like HAL it will be one and the same.
Oh yea it doesn't bring anything new that HR didn't.
