That's not dragon loli demon lord.
>last thread dead for weeks
>new thread dead on arrival
This show is so just-below-mediocre nobody even talks about it, this is hilarious. At least ImoImo got some attention.
Did this ever get good? I watched up to episode five but I’m so burnt out on Isekai shit
The summary of the things that happen always sound better than actually seeing them.
>strongest demon lord, a twintail loli in a very lewd dress, comes to the village
>decides to be friends with MC and doesn't cause any drama whatsoever, just joins up because it looks fun
If I hadn't been watching it already, I'd have immediately picked it up if someone gave me this description, but then the execution:
>she acts friendly with the bad guys
>she randomly picks a fight with everyone
>but then doesn't
>then becomes best friends with MC so incredibly quickly that you can't help but question what the fuck is going on
>complete lack of a natural progression or clear motives makes it really hard to accept as mellow-drama plot progression
I haven't watched this since episode 12, I thought it was on break or something because I couldn't find 13 with English subs anywhere. Turns out it was on nyaa all along. What's up with that?
They went on break for a week after episode 13. Maybe it was just nyaa dicking up.
The only best girl in any isekai is axe-kun, and he never shows up.
ep13 is still not in either one of the main websites I look from. My mistake for not being familiar with more options I guess.
I see it on nyaa.si from several groups, dated to 24.12. Pantsu.cat didn't have it until now, pantsu.cat tends to be missing a lot of stuff.
Yeah I normally use pantsu.cat and it didn't have it, neither did any of the random torrent sites I use.
Unfortunately pantsu is not good at all for new releases, it's either cartel websites or Animebytes.
>The only best girl in any isekai is axe-kun,
>and he never shows up.
Only when you ask for him. Axe-kun loves to NTR you out of your favorite series.
She seems like the kind of innocent trouble that is going to be a pain to deal with. I want to lewd her beyond belief
Slimeboy steamrolls everything in sight with little to no major obstacles. If that sounds good to you then watch.
>question what the fuck is going on
It was clearly foreshadowed that her carefree nature is being used as a tool by the other demon lords. Milim has no idea about this so she will earnestly join slimeboy to fight against the incoming demon lords because slimeboy is her friend. I'm just waiting to see how much longer it is before Veldora crawls out of slimeboy as the ultimate "hehe i was only showing you 50 percent of my true power" win button.
>Slimeboy steamrolls everything in sight with little to no major obstacles
I had wondered if it'd stay like this after the seeing how overpowered Rimuru was from the beginning. Overpowered MCs are shit. I like it when there's at least tension.
You can say that again.
It gets much worse.
This. I warned you all but you didn't listen. The CGI dragon in the first episode should have been the big giveaway, let alone how they turned half-dragon loli demon lord into this: >>900246
The fact that it makes my penis the big penis is irrelevant.
I stand corrected, but I could have sworn she had a more dragon-like appearance in the web novel.
That is bullshit. Why even make a girl half dragon if you're not going to make her at all dragon-like? Even Mink at least had a tail and horns.
Are you suuure?
It's dumb, I don't care at all
I like this show. I don't care what you guys say.
It's good as long as you don't take your animays very seriously.
its fun. Just a sad coincidence so few anons enjoy this kind of fun.
Haven't watched it, but the web novel was just great. It's one of my favourites.
I'm a very simple man.
>tfw still use watchcartoononline
I didn't like it much early on, but I've been enjoying it more since the kijin showed up. The orc lord arc was pretty good, and Milim has just been a treat.
I probably like it more than most things airing this season at least.
I like it. I wouldn't call it great, unless you're comparing it so other isekai shows. It rounds out everything pretty well, it doesn't fail miserably in any noticeable areas, and it's just enjoyable in general. It does suffer a little bit from pacing issues, I guess, considering how fast it feels progress is ballooning, but I suppose when you consider it's 17 episodes in it's not like they could afford to slow it down much.
I like the premise, and it's done what many isekais have failed: maintained a somewhat engaging premise, without starting off with something really interesting and then having everything become flat four episodes in. I will say I am expecting better development soon though, while it's nice to see a little action and then "make friends" as part of the story, you can only do that so many times before it becomes stale, and it's becoming stale.
The slime has discovered how to make faces. But that is less important than Milim, the savior of the second half of this show. Shes so cute its priceless. As long she changes attire regularly and is happy the post orc lord arc will be good.
I'll admit she's adorable, but you don't think her personality is color-by-numbers cliche? I mean that's even lampshaded with the slime's "taming" of her, because she acts exactly like the carefree anime child stereotype he expects. I doesn't detract from the show at all, she's amusing, but I don't see how she's anything new or interesting. We've seen this kind of character a thousand times.
I've been watching this every time I ate, because it didn't require any brainpower. Then they introduced this retarded pink shit and it was the last straw, I'd rather eat in silence now.
That was a special case though.
Your trips are a true testament to the absolute pinnacle of QUALITY contained in your clip.
Absolutely but were in the context of a guy reincarnated as a slime who is surrounded by trope characters and events. You set the standard too high. Level of interest or entertainment is simply a measure of which trope you like the most.
This show is fun. I seriously don't understand why Rimuru doesn't want to be known as the guy who defeated the all conquering Orc Lord though. I get the show's explanation, but it seems real dumb that you wouldn't to use that glory as proof that his nation is the real deal.
This was painful to watch. I can't believe some people watched this whole show, and for fun, and specifically to have fun with how bad it was.
Anon you clearly don't understand fun.
Because that's a double edged sword. Slimefag is pretty non confrontational, and he's concerned that with how fast he and his "nation" are gaining power, it's going to send any surrounding nations into a panic who are worried about their wellbeing, and collude to destroy him before he gets even more overpowered. Countries don't like it when the ones next to them start mobilizing forces, or develop powerful weapons, or do anything that signals "if it keeps going in this direction we could crush you with little resistance." It's things like that which create arms races, and you can see examples of what I just described all over the real world in the past hundred years alone.
Slime doesn't want any strife, and he knows if he takes proper credit for the orc lord's death, hostile tensions are gonna rise. Something that sort of undermines this though is his newfound friendship with Demon Loli, he better keep that shit under wraps, or else the show and/or Rimuru's motivation has just been contradictory.
I managed to hold until the episode after the Orc king, then the cringe was too strong for me
He's not talking about this show. Unless that other one has an orc king I don't know about.
I originally avoided it because I didn't want to add another isekai to the pile that I'm already watching. I've been slowly catching up on it and I've been pleasantly surprised. Isekai and an overpowered MC seems like it should be garbage but it's really entertaining for some reason.
Holy shit, that's worse QUALITY than Beatless.
Has beatless ascended to meme status or did marchen madchen take it from them?
Series is trash.
Slime is OP (A slime, which is 99% water is fire resistant? REALLY?) and boring.
Think of it this way, at least they finished Beatless.
>(A slime, which is 99% water is fire resistant? REALLY?)
You saying that because it's super obvious, or are you saying that because you think his being fire resistant is dumb? Because yes, something made of water should obviously be fire resistant, he's made of water, not ice.
Beatless actually ended and despite the shitty animation and pacing, the ending was decent.
>any surrounding nations into a panic
Except he is allied with them so there is no one left to panic. If someone cared about him, they would send spies to learn what really happened. In the end he is deceitful and retarded and faggot. But you can say that he was only pretending to be retarded and I guess it worsed out for him , just like every single other thing, it went well for him.
Because author is retarded and he tries to write "smart" characters, in his perspective. Same shit happens with overlord, the only reason character is considered smart there is because everyone constantly talking how smart that character is. But overlord got better and this got worse. And its a fucking achievement considering how bad it was to turn even worse.
Water is not fire resistant, it evaporates easily, its only non-flammable. Ceramics and some modern materials are fire resistant/provide good insulation. Water boils above 100 degrees (at1 atm). He would be as resistant to fire/heat as average cucumber.
Slime could pull "good thing I drunk a whole fucking lake of healing potion boforehand" but no, he is just invulnerable because "water is good against fire derp durr". Compare that to Kars and his magma resistant shell. Pockets of FUCKIGN AIR to insulate heat, not wetting himself.
>Water is not fire resistant, it evaporates easily
...no, it doesn't. Water has a high specific heat, we all learn this in like 7th grade chemistry. It takes tons of energy to heat up water. I can't believe I even need to say this. It's the reason why every video game in existence runs with the trope of "water is good against fire, fire is bad against water," and remember that this is an isekai, so if nothing else the only thing that would matter is that this is a video game world. You have absolutely no leg to stand on, try convincing anyone anywhere that water doesn't take lots of energy to boil or doesn't work well against fire.
>Water boils above 100 degrees
No shit, it boils when the water itself gets above 100 Celsius, not when it's hit by anything above 100 Celsius. That takes a long time and a lot of energy, because again, water has a high specific heat, it can tank a lot of energy before its temperature rises by 1 Celsius.
>He would be as resistant to fire/heat as average cucumber.
Which is going to be pretty fire resistant. Cucumber is mostly water, and Slime has a lot more water than that. You ever try cutting down a tree and burning it? It doesn't really work. Why? Why do you think lumbering/firewood companies source their fresh lumber and then keep them on lots for a year to season? Because they're full of water and don't burn without massive amounts of energy. They need to wait for the logs to dry before it becomes good firewood.
You sound like you have zero practical experience in the real world and are just making claims about how you imagine shit.
>cucumber is 96% water but slime is even more water than that!
120% I presume. Name one place where water used to insulate heat and not something like foam. And I guess all that mean that slime is fire immune against few thousand degree heat becaue its made out of water and water is immune to heat. I guess I havent lived in a world to know what people use. I guess "supermega hellfire attack" is weaker than my kitchen stove.
>Water is not fire resistant, it evaporates easily
>...no, it doesn't.
>we all learn this in like 7th grade chemistry
Embarrassing. Water evaporates all by itself even without any heat.
You just solved wildfire problem! I bet you are canadian nigger. Tree is 50%~ water, humans are 70%, humans are fire immune too. Go back to oven, you retard. Your brain is probably full of water, you will be fine.
> I can't believe I even need to say this.
Just shut the fuck up. The only "fire resistant" thing about water is that its not flammable and it can separate flammable materials and air. No one uses water to insulate heat, ever in 90% some sort of foam is used, because air is bad conductor of heat. You remind me of a guy who claimed that its impossible to burn a house in winter because its cold and there is snow everywhere.
> Name one place where water used to insulate heat
There are better insulators than water. Like hard vacuum. Water's use or lack thereof does nothing to provide support to your point. In any case, lots of homes have hot water radiators to heat their homes, and they were particularly widespread back in the 50s. That's an example of water being use for heat transference, because for the same reason that water doesn't increase temp easily, it doesn't lose it quickly either. I guess radiators don't exist though, huh?
>Embarrassing. Water evaporates all by itself even without any heat.
It doesn't evaporate "easily." That's why I said no. Every chemistry teacher will tell you "water has a high specific heat." Its evaporation occurs slowly by ambient contact with other atoms. Why doesn't a pot of water explode into steam the instant the stove burner underneath it get over 100 Celsius? Why does it take so long for a pot to boil even with a hot burner? Because you're a retard, that's why.
>You just solved wildfire problem!
Those wildfires happen during drought season you fucking idiot! Are you for real? And secondly, wildfires that do not occur in drought season are predominantly spread by -- guess what -- leaves and dead underbrush on the forest floor that are long since dead and dry. A forest floor full of kindling that becomes a potential hazard if it goes a couple weeks without solid rain. Thirdly, I am not making the claim that fresh lumber is fire proof, I am saying it is far more difficult to set it aflame and keep it that way. Nobody in the country with a wood burning stove (LIKE ME) uses green wood for that reason, along with a couple others. You don't know anything about what you're talking about.
>humans are 70%, humans are fire immune too
Who said anything about immunity? The phrase is fire resistant. Slime is fire resistant. And yes, it is actually quite difficult to burn a human body completely through. Getting burns on the skin is meaningless to your point, that's not where the majority of the water in the human body exists, and it doesn't exist in amounts high enough in the skin to stave off damage from flames.
Finally, you ignored the killing shot point made against you, because you have no defense for it. Even if everything I said is wrong, the fact remains that all games which deal with water and fire hold true to the concept of "water good against fire, fire bad against water," and this is an isekai. So even if this isn't rooted in actual reality whatsoever, it's holding true to video game portrayal of their interaction. Set and match, thanks for playing, stop being a faggot.

>my killing point is retard logic! Try to refute that!
You must be smartest village idiot among your village people.
>Water is not fire resistant, it evaporates easily, its only non-flammable.
>Water evaporates all by itself even without any heat.
>Just shut the fuck up. The only "fire resistant" thing about water is that its not flammable and it can separate flammable materials and air.
Is this the product of an American education? Its embarrassing to watch.
It has nothing to do with American education, just a classic example of trying to beat an idiot at their own game.
>Name one place where water used to insulate heat and not something like foam.
A nuclear reactor.
>All these pointless arguing over something explained by watching the first episode
He's not fire resistant because water or anything, it's because fire resistance is a fucking skill and magic. If he was furball he'd still be resistant to fire due to skill.
And he's not actually a perfect slime is he? It just so happens that a body resistant to blows, temperature changes, doesn't require blood, insulates electricity and absorbs things made him reincarnate in a body indistinguishable from a slime.
>>We all learn this in like 7th grade chemistry.
>Embarrassing. Water evaporates all by itself even without any heat.
What is wrong with you? Water has one of the highest specific heats, did you not take chemistry? Haven't you noticed how long it takes water to boil? The metal pot gets hotter much much faster than water.
It was a pretty good episode, although the one thing they glossed over was how none of the town got affected at all. I guess they went to meet him outside the town, but it's not like he couldn't have damaged the town going looking for twintail mao. At least drop a few lines about trying to bait him away, or him being able to sense twintail magic.
Finally Milim did something useful other than looking good and slimeboy didnt just slap the win button. He did get another pretty much invincible ally.
Would you say this show is actually good or is it just another case of japan having shit taste?
I think it's above average, though it's not as good a lot of people say it is. I'm just watching it for Milim at this point.
It's about as generic as it comes for city builder isekai. If you like that kind of thing, then it's fine.
Considering I look forward to watching it every week, then my view is what this anon said >>905761. However, there are quite a number of anons who hate stories where MC is largely untouchable and everything falls his way. Try to decide if you are one of those anons before watching.
One of the things I don't understand about the critique of this show is that it's supposedly really generic and so it ends up being cliche and boring. Now, I'm not that into anime so unfortunately, I don't know what shows people were already exposed to that this show seems so similar to. Can anyone care to list some examples of similar shows?
TL;DR If this show is so cookie-cutter, could you give examples of shows that are just like this?
>I don't know what shows people were already exposed to that this show seems so similar to.
Slime isn't really generic. It is just the template of "Dude dies and then get to live out his video game power fantasies in a new life" is so incredibly standard that most peoples eyes just glaze over with indifference at the mere thought of it. That is a mistake however as most Isekais do deviate in terms to premise and characters. It is like saying all detective novels are the same because they open up with a crime.
Overlord and Log Horizon.
Oh, I see. People are burnt out on the Isekai genre.
The only thing I see Slime having in common with those shows is the fact that they're both Isekai. If that's enough to cause one to feel bored then I guess that can't be helped. I want to say that I like how Slime is a refreshing change of pace for an Isekai in that it steers clear of the edgy, teen-angst material that tends to appear in this genre (understandable, as it is about a previously-underpowered individual now having immense power) and instead, keeps everything chirpy and upbeat with characters who, while may serve as antagonists, only do so temporarily and are always revealed to be good people at heart but unfortunately, like I said, I don't really watch anime and so I never got burnt out on Isekai.
My query is satisfied now though. Thank you.
This show's growing on me. I still don't like having a slime-dragon-shapeshifter thing as a protagonist, but it's too late to correct it now.
It's not just that they're isekai, it's their world-building focus and the overpowered MC. Certainly they're each thematically distinct, but the plots are more or less the same; MC meets a new potential opponent and either defeats them handily or convinced them to join forces and otherwise just builds up their town/city using knowledge gained from his previous life as an unremarkable salaryman.
I had heard about the QUALITY in this series, but actually seeing it is another thing entirely. That blonde girl's face reminds me of that one post-credits scene from brother bear.
Specific heat is one of the neat properties of water. The energy required to take 3 litres of water from room temperature (20 C) to boiling (100 C) before any phase change happens is equal to the energy to take 1 kilogram of iron from room temperature to its melting point, 1538 C and fully melt the iron into liquid. Slimeboy made of say 50 kg of water would take far more energy (about 9 times as much) to boil and vaporize than slimeboy made of iron (at constant mass) or most other metals for that matter.
Firefights use water to insulate themselves as well. They spray a big cone of the water to shield themselves from the heat produced by the flame. Some building sprinklers use a similar design to spray water parallel to the ceiling to prevent fire from spreading to the ceiling or floor above. The dual goals are obviously to cool the flames by adding cold water and to slow down the progression of the fire.
The anon throwing a fit is right but only in some respects. Theres a topic called the fire triangle that describes the conditions under which fire exists and removing any one of them will extinguish or at least suppress the fire. That anon mentioned foam (I think carbon dioxide flavor) which in a fire extinguisher aims to remove oxygen to extinguish the fire. Sprinklers use water to remove heat which is a different part of the triangle. That anon also mentioned that air is an insulator. This is again true but devoid of the correct context. Air has a hilariously low thermal conductivity, 24 times smaller than water in fact. This is why people use styrofoam insulation and air gaps. That anon is right but only in the context where heat conduction is dominant. For firefighting and fire protection air is terrible since it contains oxygen and has a specific heat about the same as aluminum. To put it simply, air changes temperature quickly as long as you dont try to heat it via pure conduction which most of the time you will avoid and usually end up with convective heating. This is why water is preferable with a specific heat four times larger than air, as long as you can keep a steady supply of water or have a whole lot of water to begin with a fire is harmless. This is why water has picked up the magical fire resistance attribute. Its one of the hardest common materials to make change temperature.
If someone had to put their hand in a box for 1 minute with a 1000 C piece of iron and could fill the box with anything. It would be wisest to pick cold water. Air would warm up pretty quickly as long as there is sufficient bulk air motion and deliver an amusing experience. I encourage that anon to give it a try though.
>Milim will never be your gf
How do you cope?
That's because Tensei Slime Datta Ken IS an enjoyable shitshow for the first several arcs since it paces decently enough and it combines the best of QUALITY with progress (even in the LNs). It only turns into a complete and utter shit show after the introduction of Hero Yuki and everything that follows. I hope the producers are smart enough to not reach the point where Rimuru becomes a demon lord and certainly not when he defeats a world power like they're dust in the wind.
Water has a high caloric threshold and requires a large amount of energy to raise it one degree Celsius as compared to other materials.
>Name one place where water used to insulate heat and not something like foam.
You know swamp coolers are a thing and are completely a water-based heating/cooling system, right? They're so effective that in industrial buildings they're commonplace and require a class III HVAC certification from the EPA to work on them.
The LN/WN basically rode on the success of Death March in order to propagate itself into the isekai world. I'm relatively sure a few anons like myself read the WN during this time frame and thus don't want to watch it because we know where this goes. For anons who were only exposed to the anime (which has been really slow pacing-wise to avoid the shit show that happens later), then it's great. The anime has actually done an excellent job adapting this shit show into a watchable format, believe it or not. Much like that spider LN though, this show goes completely off the rails into generic isekai bullshit after the introduction of Hero Yuki and everything that follows. This show basically followed the Death March and Lazy Dungeon Master formats among a few other generic isekais, riding on their success in order to become popular. If Shield Hero is considered a "bad" anime because while it was a pioneer, the copycats were adapted before it, then Slime Isekai is like the reverse where it's a successful copy cat that's "good" because anons don't know what it rode the coattails of. I know this sounds convoluted, but as an LN-fag, this show even getting an anime adaptation while other shows it borrowed from remain in LN/manga form only bothers me.
Show is fun. Has cute girls. I do not have any complaints.
Now we're back to human-focused subplots and references to Earth. I think I'm going to be sick.
Getting closer to catching up with the manga, or at least the translation.
I don't think it'll last. I'm glad the environment changed for a change, too bad nobody was taken along though.
I want to Milim
>I don't think it'll last. I'm glad the environment changed for a change, too bad nobody was taken along though.
it is a nice change but the rest of the show is the ED. MC will find a way (betting on the Predator skill to eat only the magic in them making slimeboy into a demon lord) to save the kids and take them back to his village.
I want to passionately love Milim and take responsibility.
I want to give her a coat so that she doesn't get too cold.
No deal! I don't want her pantsu to be covered!
They went all out with references this week.
>Season 2 never ever
